    Chapter 32

You are correct: not much R&R. The men generally got excited about battles, primarily because it broke up the boredom of being at sea.
  2. Evidently he did the math wrong. You'd think God would pick a spokesman with some reasonable analytical skills.
  3. So they are. Great catch!!!! I do believe I fixed it.
  4. Chatham? Spencer? Hood? Howe? Mann? Linzee? Hotham? All of these guys were real. I start posting as soon as I'm a few chapters into a story. That's why sometimes I post more frequently or less frequently. Sometimes I'll get a bit ahead, and have some chapters in hand, but lately it's been pretty much when they're done, they get published. I like doing it that way. Most readers here are pretty patient, and I think they trust me to finish up the story and to post as often as I can. More importantly, the feedback in the forums and the reviews is really helpful. It tells me if I'm getting the characters right, and it reminds me of things I may be forgetting.
  5. I want to take a moment in this forum to thank Andy (Quonos10) for taking the time to read the Bridgemont Series and leave comments on every chapter. Andy's become a good friend of mine, and if you haven't read his stories, I recommend them. I'm not as diligent about leaving reviews, so I have to go back and atone for that this summer. I'd also like to thank Bugeye, who read through Chronicles of an Academic Predator and left lots of reviews as well. If he decides to go on, he'll read 1968, and we all know how popular I was after I wrote that story. Both of these guys had me re-reading chapters to remind me of what they were talking about. Fun times.

    Chapter 31

Thanks Andy. Jervis was a no-nonsense, hard-charging disciplinarian. He did a stint as First Lord of the Admiralty, where the bureaucrats beat him (where Napoleon couldn't). Tells you the power of bureaucrats.

    Chapter 30

    You're a lawyer, it's a trial. You're biased. :-)
  8. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 29

He has to distract himself somehow, and what better way than with a big dick to play with?
  9. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 28

Well, it would have to be hard not to be pissed when your son gets hurt, even though he knows it's a risk.
  10. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 27

It's hard to like older men who buy you stuff. That's the secret to being old and creepy. :-)
  11. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 26

That was my bad. He is second in line, preceded by his brother, The Prince of Wales. The Prince had no legitimate surviving children, which is why the throne will pass to Clarence, as William IV.

    Chapter 48

I'm glad you liked it. I'm known for my happy endings. ;-)

    Chapter 15

I think she did regret it immediately, but what do you do when you've said something like that that you didn't mean to say, but it's how you feel?
  14. I didn't use Arial because it was too similar to Verdana. Century Gothic isn't an option. (It is here on the forums, but not on GA Stories.

    Chapter 15

I think JP will largely stay in the background and bide his time before he deals with Kristin.
  16. Thanks guys! I'll try to post the next chapter as soon as I can.
  17. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 15

I think the rift with Wally and Clara was bound to happen.
  18. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 15

Thanks. I might stick with that or switch to Courier.
  19. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 25

The Duke of Portland. He was a formidable Whig politician.
  20. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 24

Well, naval life is a risky business.
  21. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 23

Ah, but he's our hero. Surely he must escape. Besides, who can blame him?
  22. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 22

That would be Winkler. He'll be the matchmaker. LOL
  23. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 21

You mean the "too good to be true" adage? Nope, don't think he has.
  24. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 20

I think George is one of those men (you know the type..like all of us) who loves his own freedom but has a hard time when his lovers want the same thing.
  25. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 19

I suspect you're right. A duel perhaps? I'll have to send Granger East again at some point.
