  1. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 18

Thank you. Just the type of thing the real Jervis would have done.
  2. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 17

Jervis is interesting to write. He was ruthlessly efficient, and his distaste for aristocrats was well known. He is given credit for creating the efficient tool (fleet) that Nelson would use at the Nile and Trafalgar.

    Chapter 16

He's very adventurous, isn't he? You forget all the foreign dick. ;-)
  4. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 15

Arthur is one of those men who always seems to have some bad timing.
  5. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 14

Good points. You think I need more credible opponents. But here's the deal: the navy was somewhat insular, and that's where their power base is. Besides, Admirals are created based on seniority, not merit.
  6. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 13

Howard is the quintessential RN Captain. Doggedly goes in and just blasts the enemy all to hell.
  7. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 12

Just like nowadays. If you have a secure financial base, you have a lot more options.
  8. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 11

You nailed it. Social equals, but far apart in age and naval rank.
  9. I'm not sure if it's second base, but at least you're playing. If you think about home base as wild, monkey sex, well, I think you have a ways to go.
  10. Well, you f**ked up. Join the club. All of us do that. What is so awesome is the way you've acknowledged it, figured it out, and now you're planning to not do it again. How many of us do the same thing over and over again and never learn? (answer: most of us) One of my colleagues told me that he'd never worked for an institution that wasn't willing to work him to death. It's up to us to put up walls and boundaries to prevent that from happening. I look back and think about the hours I worked, and I can't say that in retrospect it made much sense to push that hard. On the other hand, the memories and important moments that I cherish are those I spent with people I love.

    Chapter 15

LOL. Well, that does sum it up.
  12. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 9

Well, I ended mid-battle, so that may explain why it seems short.
  13. I posted the latest chapter with Georgia, just for you. We'll see how that is.
  14. July 19, 2000 Claremont, OH Gathan We were sitting in Wally and Clara’s living room waiting for the limousine to come pick us up, and if it weren’t for Kristin, it would be really weird. She was amazing, the way she chatted Ma up, talking about all the stupid-ass knick knacks around the living room. I watched as Kristin turned the charm first on Ma, then on Pa, which wasn’t really that hard, since she was so smoking hot any dude would be charmed by her. Still, even her charm

    Chapter 10

I could just see the Captain of Illustrious commanding his ship forward despite the risks, full of resolve.
  16. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 9

You're giving me 2 thumbs down for a threesome? LMAO.
  17. You're right that Times New Roman is most widely used, and it may be easier to read, but personally, I hate it. I think that it's popular just because it's been used so much. Just because you see something all the time, that doesn't make it good. Kind of like Donald Trump. Still, I put it in there to see what you all thought, and who knows, if enough people like it, I may just use it.
  18. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 8

Me? Evil? You really want to see evil, spend some time with Sharon. ;-)
  19. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 7

I don't know...put a guy on a ship and send him off for years at a time...I think they could all be sodomites.
  20. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 6

You're wise enough to know that those kinds of wounds don't heal that quickly.
  21. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 5

You don't think Granger will be lonely, do you?
  22. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 4

A menage a trois with Calvert and Travers. Won't happen. :-(
  23. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 3

Calvert does seem to have a tough go, doesn't he? But he's so handsome, that makes up for it.
  24. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 2

With Jardines gone, a good entrepreneur would use that opportunity to promote a line of large sized dildos.
  25. Mark Arbour

    Chapter 1

I have to remember when writing this to let Winkler's cheeky side out more.
