  1. That's an issue with the new system. I posted the chapter last night and set it for publication today. It sent out notifications then, even though it won't hit the pages here until around 6:00pm.
  2. I tried to show in later chapters (I forgot which one) that it really wasn't the incest that was what bothered Robbie, even though it was a convenient hook to hang his hat on. It was that if Brad were to get together with Matt, it would seem as if he was picking a younger version of Robbie, and that would be a tough blow for him to handle in the midst of his mid-life crisis.

    Chapter 67

March 9, 2000 “What do you mean he’s not my father?” Ella asked Darius. Ella stood there, freaking out, but everyone was ignoring her as they went to welcome our new visitors, which I thought was pretty rude. I walked over to her and Darius. “Ella, let’s get everyone situated, and then we’ll lay things out for you, alright?” “Alright,” she said reluctantly. I gave Darius a look that told him to keep his mouth shut, then went back to greet JP, Stef, and Claire.
  4. That's a bit like S&M, no? The pain makes the pleasure that much better?
  5. I've finished reformatting and making small edits to the entire Bridgemont series. It's now safe to "like" these stories.
  6. What is better, the long term love relationship, or the short, intense encounter? Personally, I like the series because I tend to get involved with the characters and then want to find out more about what happens to them.
  7. As a matter of fact, it is. Check out "longest series". I think you'll find that the religious aspects at Santa Clara are muted, to put it mildly.
  8. Yet. Old people live longer these days, no argument there. Well that's just a bit self-serving, wouldn't you say? I'm wondering if I'd rather live longer, knowing that 25% of my life would involve surviving in a frozen tundra, or live fewer years in a nicer climate. I'll have to think about that one.

    Story

It's hard to allow logic and manners overcome emotions. Thanks for reviewing this story! I spent a lot of time researching it.

    Chapter 66

LOL. I loved that line (even though I wrote it): "Do I get to shoot you this time Hayes, or are you going to put the knife down."

    Chapter 43

All of the events surrounding Oran are fictional, including the ruby. I've actually erred in showing Granger spending time with his infant children. In those days, it would have been pretty rare.
  12. It's about time you brought some more Beach Boys music in. Good choices Jeremy!
  13. Especially with massages.
  14. Darius hasn't chosen a college yet. There's also the University of Santa Clara, a notch up (at least) from San Jose State, to be sure.
  15. I'm still throwing out the chapters to bribe you guys to vote in the GA Reader's Choice Awards. Chapter 66 is up!

    Chapter 66

March 9, 2000 “We snaked another deal away from them,” Rashid said. He’d been planted in DC, our political liaison, and was really doing well. “That’s two for two on your list.” “That’s great!” I said enthusiastically. “Ask Cal to mock up some numbers on the impact this will have on Omega’s finances.” “I will do that,” he said cheerfully. “They are going to try and get that third deal pulled from Omega, but Senator Danfield is concerned that they may not be able to. He

    Chapter 43

I've learned to set the stage well in advance. :-)
  18. I'll bet Granger feels the same way.
  19. Mann ends up as one of the Lords of the Admiralty in about 1800. How the hell that happened is beyond me.

    Chapter 43

She's so much higher than the Wilcoxes on the social scale!

    Chapter 43

George does love to ride. :-)
  22. As Millennium winds down, and we reach a climax, I thought I'd give you all a chance to vote for who, if anyone, should meet an untimely death. Votes are public, and you can vote for more than one.
  23. Chapter 43 has been posted. Chapter 44 is the final chapter, and should be up within a week.

    Chapter 43

August, 1796 Granger floated in the bath, the third one he’d taken since his arrival home yesterday. It was as if it were impossible for him to remove the salt from his body, no matter how much water he drank or soaked in. He’d been indulging himself completely by doing absolutely nothing but soaking and sleeping. A Royal Navy captain was always on call, and always had to be ready to rush up on deck at a moment’s notice. To lounge around knowing that he had no such obligation
