Nope, it's still very normal, since you are a parent, who's trying to impart some nice life lessons to a child As a bit of fair warning, I watched way too much TV as a kid from cartoons, Anime, Soaps at Night, Retro shows (Nick at Night used to do Happy Days and Brady Bunch along with others from your generation), Sci-Fi, Drama, and even a few Lifetime movies (Yes, but I will freely admit that I cannot be made into a weepy girl by that genre anymore despite how many things Nicholas Sparks has come out with due to my TV education). Unless you want your son to turn into me, get him to do more non-TV stuff too As for current episodes of Girl Meets World, they are pushing some interesting issues that seem more geared towards teens and parents than preteen crowd that usually watches Disney. Autism, Environmentalism, Adult Love lives, and cyber Bullying (I am not complaining on that last point as I am writing myself into that genre) are all being discussed. It doesn't feel like a Disney thing to do, but it is perfect for ABC, who could revive its TGIF line up. PS: Since many of my childhood (Technically some were adult and Young adult with PG 13/MA ratings) shows are coming back for this generation, I think they might try to re-introducing Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but instead redo it with a new character, maybe her and Harvey's daughter/son ( Yes I will spoil it, they ran off together in the last episode). Can you imagine that, plus Melissa Jone Hart needs a job.

Wasn't on my radar, but I was more focused on the fall schedule checking what was coming on and when. So far, nothing bad on TV, just nothing jaw dropping (Heroes got revived, but "meh", it needs some more time to get rolling again) As for CGB Spender (William Davis), it will make this an interesting revival; much better than the last movie 7 years ago. Plus, we can learn what happened to them after they ran off together. Fox became a real Network with this show 20 years ago; it was the first massive hit that they ever got before American Idol, The OC, Prison Break, or any other show. Anyone want to speculate on the fates of the characters after the show? A.D Skinner survived at least, he was a nice character.

Damn it, why did I check my emails before I was heading to bed? Didn't even know this had been green lit by Fox, but it makes sense. Anyway, I don't want this to get too political; though, for a show that's centered around a Global Government Conspiracy that taught an entire generation of viewers to question everything and believe that Government is watching/listening/plotting against us, it's hard not to point to why its poignancy is back in vogue. For the Queerlings, this show is a throwback to the 1990's, so it's an old dated story that was free on Amazon and Hulu (at one point and probably no longer), which made it less cool and interesting to watch due to how ancient the tech seems. For older viewers, you guys were demanding it to come back for years and now your prayers have been answered (but by whom? ). As for me, it was sort of my guilty pleasure as a kid; I watched it at 9 PM at night, when it aired in the 90's (Yes, I was watching adult TV shows as a 9 year old when I was also watching Rocko's Modern Life and Power Rangers Lost Galaxy), I liked X-Files and despite not understanding the complex conspiracy stories or the history, it was atmospheric and interesting. Third times the charm right It's a horrible trope; they were such a nice couple and the viking funeral was an awesome touch. I just checked the casting, sadly this is the first season that Josh Rosza, our only LGBT character in The Originals will not be part of the cast at the start of a season So, there's no urgency for his character to be developed and I fear they might just kill him off-screen (logical, after all the shit he's been through on top of losing his boyfriend, I'd say get into the sunlight and let nature happen ) I want him to have a happy ending, or a spin off show on here! or Logo (Those guys need to just bite the bullet and take one of our stories, turn it into a TV show, what is the point of having a gay channel if there is no original programming?)

First off, yes, I do have some interests in Vampire/Fantasy fiction too , which includes The Originals, the spin off series of the Vampire Diaries. However, I am not a fan of its predecessor series. I like my fantasy fiction to have more over-arcs and competing power issues. Too much soap opera is boring to me, which is one reason why I cannot really get into Game of Thrones on a consistent basis. Some Soap is good, too much is overload. Well, like the title says, I want to play this spooky holiday with a fun short story idea I have dreamed up. It involves a magical world of Warlocks, Vampires, and Werewolves Since Cyber Bullying Defense Team is in post production for the 1st half of the story with a publication date of 10/23/2015, I've got some time to write something short and fun. Here's the tag line: I know what people might say: WL, what the fuck are you doing? This isn't your kind of story, why are you even entering Fantasy, when you are a Science Fiction and Tech guy? I know it's different, but even I want to have some fun. Besides, it's only a short story (If you guys demand continuation, there better be 100 petitioners at least )

What if writers release their story Outlines for how it might have gone if they had continued writing? I know I had drawn up a very intensive outline for Exodus with tie in stories that never got written and a Bible on how everything began from the first spark of life in the universe to end/transformation of mankind and a few other stories had similar outlines, maybe other writers had done the same? That way you guys will have an idea of where it might have gotten if we hadn't been hit by real life or other problems, and give you a sense of closure. I think what Parker, you are asking for is closure, which can either be offered by writers' in this form of a short closing outline or by continuing the story yourselves under a new stewardship. In the area of changing hands of authors, Krista and I have a different opinion on the idea of stewards for our stories; I understand the attachment of a story and its author, but I know from personal experience that some of my stories need a lot of care to create and craft, stuff that I don't know if I have the ability to write without inspiration. In mainstream fiction, you can take the examples of Stargate franchise, the movie producers, Roland Emmerich (I personally hate this guy due to how badly he handled the LGBT movie Stonewall, which I will review at a later point in my blog, since I don't want to jump on the bandwagon of other critics), hate the TV series interpretation of his mildly successful movie, while the TV series producers, Brad Wright (Loved him for his work on the Outer Limits series in the 90's) thought the movie producers were just too obtuse about where their storyline could go and wanted to expand the canvas. It really is based on taste and opinions, I am bias towards certain viewpoints and certain interpretations, but it does not mean I think it's not as legitimate as another viewpoint for stories. That's the heart of my argument, let the readers choose their own interpretations and if they want to create another interpretation that is different than my own, it is their own imagination inspired by another.

Well, I do want to continue my old stories and maybe perform a rewrite if I ever get time and inclination. If I m forced to end all my old unfinished stories, I have readily available ideas: Exodus: My first unfinished story: have a fast moving piece of space debris breach the hull of a ship, causing a chain reaction in the fusion reactors, thus destroying the entire refugee fleet of wayward LGBT people Better to Reign in Hell: The guy gets caught by the FBI and commits suicide, endhing any threat of "Revenge" from him for the murder of his partner Causality- Evil triumph over good, chaos wins and the universe is completely obliterated Home is in the heart- My brief attempt at writing historical western story, I will simply have a band of outlaws find my two roguish gay guys in Utah, kill them, then scalp them in the late 19th century, it works with the setting. Look away Dickie- Simple, have a certain southern county clerk get elected as Governor and end the entire play Love and Again- Just finish up the tragic story of Alexander, then say that's it, sorry dude no more great tales of gays thru history The Big Squeeze- They all get fired and the economy tanks The Phoenix and the Dragon- The Triads discover my character's sexuality and he is brutally murdered (Sensing a theme going on ) ------------------------------------ I am just pointing out that the only way I can end all my stories appropriately would be in tragedy if readers want me to go back there without having the muse to keep on writing them as they should have been written. It's why I have stopped writing stories like that and have switched off to "planned" stories, meaning I write them first, not in the heat of the moment. My current project is already half finished, so I can publish it without fear that I won't complete it. Plus, I can also leave room for sequels to keep it going. I want to return to all my stories eventually; I just need to be in the right mindset to write a play, a historical fiction story, a Science Fiction story, or a political action thriller story. Causality is probably the easiest for me to pick up again (Kitt knows I have a few unpublished chapter ready for her to edit, but I chose to do Cyber-Bullying Defense Team first as it called to me loudest). The rest are an open story: like Exodus has an outline that I had imagined 5 years ago, but I am not interested in the story or conclusion in my current mindset (Battlestar Galactica helped inspire me there, so Grand Operatic Sci-Fi might get me back in the mood). If readers feel like they want a story written in a certain way after I have stopped for so long (some of these are 5 years old), then I suggest taking over my old stories and continuing on as you might desire in a parallel universe. I am fine with people picking up where I have left off, it might not be where I want the story to go, but you have a vision versus where I am at, then you should carry it forward. Extend your imagination and take it to new places, where you have not gone before. An author is merely the captain, the story is the vessel for which you travel to new worlds. If you want to be your own captain and take my ship out for a joy ride, bring it back before dinner with a fresh paint job

I am as much a writer as I am a commentator and reviewer, so let me introduce a literary concept to all my fellow GA Authors. Chekhov's Gun is an allusion to the famous short story author, Anton Chekhov of the early 20th Century. and his idea of utilitarian story elements. He proposed that if a gun were hanging on a main character's wall in the 1st chapter of a story, then it must follow that the gun would go off eventually in a later chapter. If the gun never goes off, then the writer should not have hung a gun on the wall. Some people associate the idea with foreshadowing, but there is a very big difference. The gun has always hung on the wall, because the character has an intent to use it. Foreshadowing can be done by ideas without direct correlation to the character; i.e. you allude that Othello has a bad temper and is prone to misjudgments, he would later kill his girlfriend due to anger over false infidelity from Iago. That's foreshadowing a tragic ending. A Chekhov gun example would be like, Harry Potter mention he had to face Voldemort in the same forest where he threw away the Philosopher stone in book 1. Ergo, he will die and be resurrected (Christian symbolism too) by the Philosopher stone. Hope writers enjoyed this little tidbit of fun facts and examples

Wow thanks guys, I think this time around, I will leave the stories as a general Prompt to tell Winter Holiday stories, which will be easier and open up a lot more ideas to writers. Less structure is better.

I liked doing it last time and thought it was fun to have "special" GA Holiday Stories around Christmas and the Winter Solstice. Not sure how many people still remembers the event from two years ago, but it was fun as a community activity. Like last time, the prize will be an Amazon Gift Card of $50.00, if we do it, and winners will be judged based on public polling. Anyone interested in a GA Holiday tradition?

Everyone in the city gets those propositions or scam artists trying to make a quick buck or steal your smartphone. Have you ever wondered why that guy at the Train station keeps asking about the time? If you are the right mark, take out your cell phone, and get distracted by them, then voila, you are short a 500.00 phone. (Happened to someone I know) Me, I know it's pretty racist thing to do, but I still do it to get out of speaking with people who are scamming: "Me, no speaky English " On the other side, I do give food and a few bucks during cold nights, because well, I am not that cold. The summer is more the "fake" beggars market, the winter, it's somewhat more genuine because few people would risk exposure to make $5. Those people deserve our help.

I realized while answering Method's blog that I never told you guys the story of last Winter's guests. Last year during the worst Blizzard in the history of New England, I let two homeless guys stay in my house. The first question in your mind maybe, Is WL crazy? Then, the second question, Were they hot? To answer your questions, No, I am quite sane if a bit soft hearted. As for hotness, one was around my age with a cute/shy demeanor and another was in his 50's who kept saying thank you every so often. I did not exchange sex for board or anything crazy like that, but they wanted to help out around the house, so I got my porch repainted, snow shoveled, and a new screen on my door put in, which I paid them for materials and some extra for cost. When the spring came, they moved out and last I heard they got some temp jobs as painters. No I am not Bill W. or any of you other guys who write about taking in homeless gay teens, I haven't seen that many in Boston to be honest, which either means we're really good with accepting gay teens or they were all taken in by gay couples long before I came around, too bad I don't have inspiration to write those stories I am a hard nosed Conservative, but I am not above charity or caring for my fellow man. I didn't even think about posting this on my blog until now, I really didn't think much of it. They were good guys, who just got bad deals in life.

You did the right thing, there's no shame in not being Macho You don't have to be a saint; some times people have to find their own way out of hell, especially drug addiction. You can try to find this woman again and offer her a ride to a free clinic, but that's as far as compassion can go without you paying for her services

After finishing the 1st half, I just realized how much other writers have influenced me, in particular two on GA. C James, you are the most fun technical guy I have ever had the chance to read. Your nuclear thrillers and your serial novel "Circumnavigation" inspired me to create CBDT: Cyber Bullying Defense Team. In terms of themes, we're similar, but different in terms of our style and genre environment, but I consider you as a primary inspiration. I also think the idea of a long serial novel is good for other writers to try as well; although, I am using this more as a traditional TV season split serial with a schedule that breaks in half due to the holidays. As for my second inspiration, I have to admit, he haunts me whenever I write, because his liberalism is so infectious, but so undeniable. Dkstories or dkstories deserves the second inspiration for this story. I have read many stories from other writers, including Mark Arbour and my GA friend Tiger, who I have less antagonistic relationships with, but DK will always be the ghost of Christmas Past for me. His Do-Over Series is a major piece of what got me onto this site and read everyone else's story. Why WL is haunted by a liberal gay writer he can't stand? It's because DK made a great point and a touching argument for me in his first Do Over story. In the story, it started out like most gay fiction even though it held the genre of time travel, then it went serious and never turned back. When Davey Jones debated himself inside the San Francisco Hospital where AIDS was about to break out in the 1980's and murder thousands of gay men due to the lack of information and care, he made a moral judgment that went beyond politics, beyond good and evil. To give up your personal peace for thousands and millions beyond that is the spirit of humanity that Christians, Muslims, and even LGBT community members today sometimes lack. Compassion should never be shelved in a story due to a need for sex or other plot devices. The more I write, the more I feel like I am both paying homage to him and on the other side, I am repudiating him. I'm not doing it on purpose, but for some reason it just happens. Some people who have read his stories will be able to tell what I am writing is in opposition to him, so I just want you to know, it was not intentional, it just happened. The first half of my story is now written, it took 1.5 months and has 12 normal chapters (Maybe a special chapter for Halloween will be written, I am checking on Kitt's availability). I hope readers enjoy it
