Yeah, Fantasy writers don't formally make deals with devil, but in a world where they can be wiped out by human vigilantes, it is an uneasy alliance. Not everyone likes one another, but they have no choice. This is a reality, where God is dead, but his memory lingers against those who have sided with his murderers. If you think about that basis, you will appreciate the weird political coalition work these guys had to do.

Magic to me can be broken down into Psi ability of Telekinesis, whether it is moving objects, slowing it down, weather control, or teleportation (Physics of quantum entanglement and other stuff). Warlocks in my universe are endowed with a unique ability to grow and channel their magic within themselves. They don't need conduits like the earth or any pagan deity, like Witches and demons would require in order to perform magical spells. Loki gave them this power as a trick against both the Norse Gods and humanity itself. It has a fatal flaw in that the power creates arrogance, pride, and envy that will destroy its holder if left unchecked. 2. Yes, I went there, because no one else has dared to say it out loud. Fantasy writers know their myths, but why on earth are you guys so afraid to say what the myth would tell you about the Judeo-Christian figure of God. GOD is dead, in my universe at least and maybe our reality if you believe Friedrich Nietzche, too. Every mythology from the Greek gods with the murder of Ouraenus to the Norse Gods killing Ymir, the ancient gods killed the Big guy in an act of rebellion. If you read the myths, the original Primordial God of mythology is very much the same God of Judeo Christian belief systems in the old testament. He's more or less a father figure with an overbearing sense of righteous wrath and love. Basically, he's you're stereotypical strict dad, he wants you to be straight, devout, and follow his rules. In my Universe, the ancient gods of numerous mythologies said "hell no" to this, killed him and started ruling mankind in their own ways. Does God still exist? Sure he does in my universe, I am the writer after all However, he's non-corporeal and have learned his lesson to let sentient beings choose what is right for them rather than be an asshole about it. Now that also brings up some interesting issues about Christians, which if I do write on this story, I might explore more of. 3. As for Billy, he is still getting used to magic and he is still the same kid with issues. It shows in his mannerism and his ideals. He is basically a rogue, but he's the kind of rogue that will throw things to the wind for what he thinks is right rather than what is acceptable. Now, if readers are wondering why he's the way he is, there are two basic reasons. 1. He is a child of the American Foster Care system, which is broken several ways to hell in many states including my own with a massive investigation just a few years back. (My state is supposed to be the most liberal and progresive, imagine how bad things are in other places). 2. Billy is innately cursed with power and arrogance that makes him oblivious to the obvious issues that surround his existence. 4. I expanded a little more on the background story of Rick and Nick, along with the massacre of the Elder Wizards 7 years ago. It coincides with a series of major hurricanes in the Atlantic, which I think some inquisitive readers might learn to spot next time I give out hard dates. I don't play nice with reality and bitter truths about human flaws. Gay guys are still human beings, we are flawed in certain ways and manipulate our sexual partners in the wrong way to reach certain ends. This piece of the story is my reflection on reality. 5. As for the Dragon, yes, it's a "rescue" story. I can still write those you know, I just don't tend to do them much anymore. There's a reason why. If you read to the end of the tale, you will see that even in my fictional universe, I know there's a price for being a good guy. Its the same truth in our universe and in everyone else universe, who don't want to be stagnant. There are consequences, usually legal, if you attempt to stop a person from abusing their partner, a child, or even a family member. That's one thing, I added to remind everyone that being "good" is not always clear cut in a world of alliances and "laws". Story: Jason Why do I like this kind of story? In terms of writing, it is grammatically bad, which in the modern world of Gay stories is a death knell for readers (I understand what you must think, if a writer cannot edit, they should not be writing and posting), but in terms of content, it holds a good message with extremely poignant characters that we can all desire to live up to or desire to be. It has weaknesses and hokey plot elements, plus the usual Dickensian problems of the early days of online gay writers. That doesn't make it a bad story or a story that should not be read for people, who truly want to believe in love. Sometimes, readers need to be reminded that a good story is not a story with every punctuation and every word in the exact and proper OCD order that is proper. The imperfections of a young writer shines a light into his best and most unique voice. Of course, editing is a great thing and helps sharpens the writer, but before you can sharpen a story, you must have a block of good ideas in the right mold. The more I read, the less I feel like writers are pushing their imaginations; instead, we're emulating ideas from others. Emulation might show a great deal of respect, but imagination is what makes a great story live. I would challenge everyone to write outside convention and spoil commonly held ideas and ideals. Now let me get into the meat of the review: Plot: Jason is a young gay 13 year old boy, who was kidnapped, raped, and left for dead. The story chronicles his struggle to remember who he was before the events, re-establish his relationships with family, fall in love again with his best friend/boyfriend, and finally facing the harsh realities that he was exposed to. This story resolves in a heartwarming conclusion. Review: I will keep this story review simple, it was a good story, when I first read it as a teen. As an adult, I think the writer could have done more, but I am not reducing his brilliance. I think the story is hokey at times and the ending is perhaps too happy, but in the current state of the world, sometimes people need the happy endings and the campy set ups. I found the character of Jason to be the most rewarding and interesting gay characters to be described and written into fiction. I think the reason for that was that as a reader I had a stake in his development and his recovery of humanity. A common issue with writing that I have and many other writers here and elsewhere share is that we don't give our readers characters with emotional depth that keeps them occupied on that character's development. Jason as a story is flawed, but the character kept it alive for readers and his regrowth is what an audience demands. My review is: 8.5/10 Very good story with noticeable flaws, but I dare a reader to go through it, just to test your emotional endurance.

Well, I don't want to let my readers down; even if the appeal was small and marginal, I will give them one more short story in that universe at the very least. I am not going to commit to a long term unless you guys want me to, since I do have a primary story being launched. For the upcoming launch of Cyber Bullying Defense Team, 8 chapters have finished editing with a Halloween special Kitt is working on the tail portion right now, but that part will not be released until December/January. If I am doing two stories set in two kinds of genre, I will need another editor and beta, but that's if both stories are well received. The 2nd half of Cyber Bullying Defense Team that I promised is also taking shape in my mind for February launch. Depending on how well received the 1st half is, I might extend the 2nd half to 18 chapters instead of 12 chapters. Basically, it would mean chapters up to July. Beyond writing, I am also reading a few old stories from my friends in Timmy's Treehouse I don't write in the CSU anymore, but I do like nostalgia. Also, I rediscovered a great gem of the early 2000's, a story series called Jason; I will probably write a review on it and its Writer, Pyro. It's very special, dark, and in the end I think there's a spark of hope that we can all admire. I read this story first on Nifty..

Thanks, As a one off story, I was not really anticipating to world build unless I had to. If this were a TV show pitch, it would be a "Backdoor Pilot", sort of like an introduction to elements within a bigger story that could be created as a result. An example of this kind of writing can be sen in TV Series like CW's Arrow and FLash, which basically are making a DC universe by introducing characters and elements that can be turned into a bigger series. As for Grammar, I know the title is off, but when I tried to change it, the link would throw me and everyone else into "no story" land. If I do add more stories, I think I can change this by re-opening the story. Now as for the rest of editing, I have no editor currently on this project. As I was saying in my blog earlier, Kitt is working on my main story Cyber Bullying Defense Team, which already has 12 chapter + 2 specials in editing. She's already being burdened, I don't want to push her too far with another story, so if you feel up to the task of Editor/Beta Reader feel free to pm me at the end of the week if I decide to pursue this story. As for the story of Wine vs. Shots, I want to get audiences drunk quickly, so I can have fun with the readers

Thanks for the praise, it's a simple one off as it is not my usual genre of writing. I don't think that many people want to read a story like this though. Most prefer a nice story with magic being happy or at the very least more in line with mainstream Fantasy writers

Well, looks like at least 190 views at the story so far with 4 responses. It's not a big reaction, but it's not a bad one either for a non-genre writer like me. Unless, you guys are dying for another fantasy story, I think this might just be a one time thing. I wanted to at least share some things about the story at least for fun facts: 1. I have read way too many stories about witches, (used to love Charmed too), I feel like there's really no difference in story elements of fantasy. I went backwards and looked back at the old source material, which to my surprise was Norse Mythology and old English. As a gay man, I appreciate great heroic tales of valor, man on man brotherhood/love/betrayal, and some harsh reality mixed in, which the Norse Myths provide in excess. Hoor and Baldur story was glossed over in here, but I really think you guys should look it up. I also mentioned Odin's beloved Raven, Muninn, who travelled the world receiving knowledge along with his brother Huginn. 2. Yes, my main Character Billy is dysfunctional, but he's the American style of Harry Potter If Old Harry were stuck in our foster care system, he'd be offering his ass up without issue Despite what you might have seen on shows like the Fosters, our current system has a lot of jaded kids, who have been passed along from home to home throughout their lives. Some are petty criminals acting out due to society's empty promises of "unconditional love", who eventually get 3 strikes and get sent to Juvie, then become real criminals. I wrote him as the unapologetic Dickensian child of American Society. As for Magic, he unlike Harry or any of the numerous writers on GA, who have wrote in this genre, is not at all enthralled or surprised by it. Too many years of CGI and animation has made "real" magic cheap to him. He'd rather play video games and be a normal kid than ride broomsticks and play quidditch. He has real power to change the world and real leadership focus, but he's too jaded and self-consumed right now due to his past of abuse and neglect from his foster parents prior to Nick and Rick. 3. As for the other characters: Jason- Puppy Dog! I am howling over the moon for him. He definitely has a crush on Billy and I will confirm it, but they've got a complex Boy + Dog/best friend relationship. Billy likes him too, but it's more sexual than romantic at this point. Billy doesn't get the idea of love yet; he never felt it, nor expressed it, so it's hard for him to reciprocate Jason's feelings. Lucky for Jason, he's got dogged determination The problem with this kind of love story, I started hinting at it as I was writing. Jason would willingly sacrifice himself to save Billy from danger. Wolves and Dogs have a deep attachment to their owners/masters/best friends, which can be sacrificial. It's an unrequited love that can be fatal for our favorite pup. Now if you wonder, if I am making fun of Twilight by having him and Ethan, a vampire child in my story, ask yourselves why did I use a character with initials "J" as the werewolf love interest of my main character and "E" as his potential vampire love interest as well As for backstory, Odin's wolves that I reference as his ancestors are none other than Geri and Freki. Read up on your Norse mythology to learn more. There's a long history between the wolves and human beings, along with Warlocks/Wizards. Since Jason is a direct blood descendant, he is a"pure" werewolf, rather than one created by a bite. Ethan- Vampires are overdone and everyone knows it. I wanted to make a new kind of Vampire, one that doesn't meet anyone expectations, who yearns to keep his humanity. Ethan is a vegan vampire Yes, you heard me, I did not want a plain blood sucker. As for his relationship with Billy and Jason, he is best friends with Jason, plus his "betrothed", but he actually has some feelings for Billy as well. Is it platonic, sexual, or romantic? He's still trying to figure this out For inspiration, Comsie deserves credit for Gone from Daylight, but I am writing against normal Vampire lore. Two vampires in my universe can have kids. However, these kids are born innately Vampiric, so they can turn into a Vampire upon consuming any type of human or animal protein, like meat, milk products, or even broth with animal flavoring. These kids have other weaknesses, they are partially narcoleptic, meaning they easily fall asleep in the day time, and unlike regular vampires are susceptible to a wider variety of human illness. As for actual Vampires, in my universe, they have to kill to survive. There is no pig's blood or animal alternative for them. Human blood has to be sucked dry to keep them going everyday, so it's a tragic fate, not one to be wanted by anyone. Some vampires have taken the high road and only go after criminals and evil doers, but most are based creatures resembling the demon that created their race. Rick/Nick/Baxter- Two men and a werewolf go into the Bedroom together wonder what will happen ....Seriously, I like the combination between the 3 mature adult couple. Baxter and Rick's relationship is an allusion to how a Warlock and his best friend/familiar can be lovers eventually on equal pairing to his warlock partner. Yes, I made a Polyamory couple, but it makes perfect sense to me, why fight for one or the other, when you can have both 4. Themes: Curses and Blessings are big in this universe. Warlocks are twice blessed and cursed, Vampires are cursed by demonic ancestors, and Werewolves were blessed by Odin himself. People slide owards curses a lot for Vampires and Werewolves, but I think it is a choice of the character and reality to view it as a curse or a blessing. Werewolves to me seem to be more blessed than cursed, while Vampires are more cursed than blessed. Masculinity- Seriously, yes, witches are part of the Feminine, Mother Earth et al, power source of creation. Why hasn't there been a writer in either mainstream Fantasy or Gay Genre, who wrote about the masculine, Father of Knowledge, aspects of magic power. Using Norse Myth, I have a powerful mythic backdrop of manly guys, who like to fight, drink, and fuck on occasion, while singing songs about all these things. I am not being a Chauvinist, but seriously magical knowledge can go both ways. As for the real life issues, all the kids are becoming teenagers, they are comparing cock sizes and pube patches. It's pretty normal for guys and their best friends as they develop to discuss their growing bodies and there is an underscored theme of male emotionalism as well. Guys can be as understated emotionally as girls if they have serious issues in their head. Great story, It reminds me of the episode from the Outer Limits, where a grad student had invented cold fusion and how easy it could work as a weapon of terrorism. Science fiction is only a few steps away from being reality at any given time. While this might not have much character development, it is a short based on thought and ideas, which should be commended.
