  1. Reports of 3 incidents at 3 tube stations in London, apparently a nail bomb found at 1, all so reports of an explosion on one bus, no injures or deaths though. Wonder what exactly is happening, not much info at this stage.... I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for Londoners.
  2. The wait was worth it for such a good chapter but where's 15?! I think Quinn is doing his typical over-reacting routine and Brad doesn't have any issues with Quinn now, after all Dom writes str8 best friend characters well Bree though....I think she understands it all now and won't be happy, she's a little to used to getting her own way and this time she lost the cute boy to her brother, gives a new meaning to sibbling rivalry. As for Snow Dog's comment about what Brad was doing, he should know better than to tell us what he was doing himself after the second paragraph I wonder if the fact Mark hasn't been around has made Snow Dog so "tense"
  3. I came out when I was 15, almost 16 and was completely out by 16. It's such a liberating thing, however you have to be ready. I had an incredably easy coming out. I'd suggest waiting if your parents are conservative or religous, just don't wait till your 25+ though, you'll miss out on far to much, under 20 is usually best since they won't be so fixated about you giving them grandchildren or getting married. Most coming out's are positive, however the negative ones are hard, having worked with queer youth I've seen both. Always pick the right time and place, be confident and affirmative, that's the best advice anyone can give. Hope that helps

    Music

Hey boys, girls and the old folks amongst us what styles of music does everyone listen to? Who are your favourite artists? What don't you like? I love trance (the progressive, vocal, uplifting types) and house music, I honestly don't think I own a cd of another genre. For those that aren't familiar with what trance is, well it came from the old techno style, very high energy melodic beats, vocal trance has lush vocals, really beautiful stuff, a long way from the old techno days. House music is actually very commercial these days, everyone would know it if they hear it, it
  6. I don't have any, however I would like to get one nipple done....I've heard how much fun they can be only problem is I don't like pain, I'd need to be seriously numbed before and after and that's not legal....
  7. I think I'll be the first Aussie commenting on this one but here goes. We refer to drinks by individual name, however if you refer to soda, pop or whatever else you call it colectively their called soft drinks. I personally don't touch the stuff unless it's coke with bourban in it or theres nothing else to drink, I'm to healthy We have highways, expressways, motorways, tunnels, tollways and others, not interstates though, I think thats exclusive to the US. The one thing that has always annoyed me is American's calling petrol 'gas'. If petrol was a gas I could understand it, however it's a liquid, American's refer to gas as propane, now propane is a gas confused yet? There are others however I'm to tired to think of them at the moment, my verdict though is keep it simple, call a coke a coke, pepsi a pepsi, sprite a sprite and so on. Talon
  8. One world sums it all up, VILE, nothing else needs to be said to describe it. I believe the death tolls are unfortunately higher than they have said, after all anything that goes boom in a confined space is incredably nasty. I all so believe the terrorists timed it very intelligently, peak hour, when emergency services have been diverted to G8, just after the olympics anouncement, clearly an attempt to make it as vicous as possible. My condolences to those killed and injured and their families. I wish those injured a speedy recovery and hope that London's truely unique culture and way of life hasn't been permanently damaged.
  9. Seems Spain has beat Canada to it. I only wish Australia would get it's head out of the sand and join the countries that offer same-sex marriage, as well as other rights *sigh* considering the UK will have civil unions soon, I find it disgusting that, Australia, as a commonwealth country, hasn't even had civil unions considered by the government to be pathetic (lets not even mention the marriage situation). I think the former opposition leader Mark Latham put it best when he called Prime Minister John Howard an arse licker. (Madrid) Parliament legalized gay marriage Thursday, defying conservatives and clergy who opposed making traditionally Roman Catholic Spain the third country in the world to officially recognize same-sex unions. The measure passed the 350-seat Congress of Deputies by a vote of 187-147 with four abstentions. The bill, part of the ruling Socialists' aggressive agenda for social reform, also lets gay couples adopt children and inherit each others' property. The bill is now law. The Senate, where conservatives hold the largest number of seats, rejected the bill last week, but the Senate is an advisory body and final say on legislation rested with the Congress of Deputies. Gay couples will be allowed to marry as soon as the law is published in the official government registry, the Boletin Oficial del Estado. This could come as early as Friday or within two weeks at the latest, the parliament's press office said. After the final tally was announced, activists watching from the spectator section of the ornate chamber cried, cheered, hugged, waved to lawmakers and blew them kisses. Several members of the conservative opposition Popular Party, which vehemently opposed the bill, shouted: "This is a disgrace." Those in favor stood and clapped. The Netherlands and Belgium are the only other two countries that recognize gay marriage nationwide. Canada's House of Commons passed legislation Tuesday that would legalize gay marriage by the end of July as long as the Senate also passes the bill, which it is expected to do. "We were not the first, but I am sure we will not be the last. After us will come many other countries, driven, ladies and gentlemen, by two unstoppable forces: freedom and equality," Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero told the chamber before the vote. Zapatero said the reform of Spain's legal code simply adds one dry paragraph of legalese - but means much, much more. He called it "a small change in wording that means an immense change in the lives of thousands of citizens. We are not legislating, ladies and gentlemen, for remote unknown people. We are expanding opportunities for the happiness of our neighbors, our work colleagues, our friends, our relatives." Zapatero lacks a majority in the chamber but got help from small regional- based parties that tend to be his allies. Popular Party leader Mariano Rajoy said after the vote that Zapatero has deeply divided Spain and should have sought a consensus in parliament that recognized same-sex unions but didn't call them marriages. Rajoy said that if the vast majority of countries in the world don't accept gay marriage, including some run by Socialists, there must be a reason. "I think the prime minister has committed a grave act of irresponsibility," Rajoy told reporters. The gay marriage bill was the boldest and most divisive initiative of the liberal social agenda Zapatero has embarked on since taking office in April 2004. Parliament overhauled Spain's 25-year-old divorce law on Wednesday, also irking Spain's Roman Catholic Church, by letting couples end their marriage without a mandatory separation or having to state a reason for the split-up as required under the old law. He has also pushed through legislation allowing stem-cell research and wants to loosen Spain's restrictive abortion law. The Roman Catholic Church, which held much sway over the government just a generation ago when Gen. Francisco Franco was in power, had adamantly opposed gay marriage. In its first display of anti-government activism in 20 years, it endorsed a June 18 rally in which hundreds of thousands marched through Madrid in opposition to the bill. Some 20 bishops took part in the June 18 rally. On Wednesday, a Catholic lay group called the Spanish Family Forum presented lawmakers with a petition bearing 600,000 signatures as a last-minute protest. Late last year, a spokesman for the Spanish Bishops Conference, Antonio Martinez Camino, said that allowing gay marriage was like "imposing a virus on society - something false that will have negative consequences for social life." However, polls suggest Spaniards supported gay marriage. A survey released in May by pollster Instituto Opina said 62% of Spaniards support the government's action on gay marriage, and 30% oppose it. The poll had a margin of error of 3 percentage points. But surveys show Spaniards about evenly split over whether gay couples should be allowed to adopt children. Earlier this week Canada's House of Commons approved a gay marriage bill (story). The legislation needs approval of the Senate - likely to come before the end of July - to make Canada the fourth country to legalize same-sex marriage.
  10. I actually think that Nicky and Owen are closer now than ever, Owen said Nicky hadn't changed, sure Owen has however he's being the real Owen now, not the closet case, and so far it seems Nicky is getting along with Owen better than ever. It's likely that Nicky is more certifable as a part in Owen's future than Aiden, after all boyfriends come and go, friends as close as they are rarely lose touch. I don't think Nicky is nearly as hurt emotionally by all this as you think, if anything he seems rather like me, lets in the good stuff and blocks out the bad, except for a little angryness. His parents and their divorce doesn't seem to have had much effect on him and he seems rather resilient. I'm actually glad to see Dom write a character that isn't so fragile I do agree that Nicky won't be moving in with Chris, Owen and Aiden....yet. If I remember correctly Tony is going to college/university, and being a small town I'm guessing it's in town or close by, so I don't think it's hard to guess where Nicky will end up when they finish high school, after all he doesn't have that much left for him in his town, it seems the only thing he's wanted is to be around Owen. As for Nicky fitting in I think he'd have no problems at all, he likes Lacy, and Ryan, has Owen, Chris and Tony who he knows, and despite his differences with Aiden, I think he's glad Owen has him. 11. I wouldn't put it past Dan to have Davey and Brian not get together this time, after all he has shown just how different things can be with the slightest changes in time, however I don't think even Dan is capable of stopping them getting together. Redux has focused a lot more on laying down the basic everyday life of Davey, not just the bigger events, though this time around his everyday life is considerably more sedate, most likely due to his experience in the past and trying to handle things different this time. For everyone that has been waiting for the "action" to pick up, (myself included) I have no doubt that Dan has bigger things planned this time, yes the slow start to Redux was frustrating but if Dan hadn't done it the differences between timelines would have been less apparent. I can already see some of the events on the horizon, after all Dan has left clues, of course he could be leaving false ones but I expect Bush senior to be a big player in it all, also watch what happens with Tammy, somehow I don't think she'll be to happy when she finds out davey's gay. Anyways I'll stop trying to start rumours as always Dan I'm awaiting the next chapter hopefully it will be out before Friday Talon
  12. Hey Dan, I love the story, the original Do-Over was great, I'm interested in seeing where you go with this one. One of the best things about the original Do-Over was the level of technical depth you wrote in, that's something a lot of writers forget, research or knowledge brings the story to life, as your knowledge of naval combat did. I'll always have a strong dislike for Davey's dad and not even him saving the world will change that but I can't help wondering where your going with their relationship this time. Looking forward to the next chapter impatiently as always.
