    At A Stop

Gladys Knight & the Pips sang: 🎶 Neither one of us Wants to be the first to say Goodbye… 🎶 But with Heathcliff & Aidan, neither one of them wants to be the first to say, ‘I love you.’ even though they’re both dying to hear the other say it. They’re both afraid that it’s too soon to tell the other how they feel. And yet they’re both aware that they other already feels it. ;–)
  2. It’s difficult to believe that Han Solo and Indiana Jones are 77 years old! ;–) (Sorry the images are different sizes, they looked the same on the Tumblr I got them from.) ‘Don’t get cocky, kid!’ – July 13, 1942.

    Chapter 2

But look how much fun the three of us had! ;–)

We only ‘know’ a couple of local residents. It’s already been established that the café owner and his wife are straight. I don’t think we ever learned the names of either the librarian or any of the volunteers who helped Eric learn how to use a computer. Also nameless are the people who assisted Eric on the street when he slipped and fell. It’s only logical! ;–)

    Chapter 2

And now we’ve gone full circle back to being eaten! And Dreyfuss still seems to be the likeliest candidate… ;–)
  7. Most of Robbie’s medical problems are psychological. Just like most of Robbie’s other problems being due to his own poor decisions. So you could say it’s (almost) all in his head! ;–)

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Eric’s nosy neighbor were there celebrating too? ;–)

    Chapter 2

Then he should be glad that I don’t have a knot like a canine! ;–) Jaws at both ends? ;–)
  10. So when will Miss Pringle pop? (“Once you pop, you just can’t stop.”) ;–)
  11. Robbie doesn’t Skype with Tom anywhere near often enough! ;–)
  12. Donnie was visiting the school at the time? ;–)
  13. Jo and Don have never been seen at the same time. Their cars have not been seen at the same time either, although Don has had plenty of time to acquire a new car and litter it with food wrappers and other debris! And Don is Robbie’s mother’s closest surviving relative. Because Donnie is going to have to pull off a Mrs Doubtfire if he hopes to ever reunite with his family! ;–)
  14. But Tom returns in the sequel! ;–)

We knew a farmer in metro San Diego who still had his horse in the mid-Seventies. I’m not sure the horse still worked pulling the plow or anything, but the farm still produced strawberries. Horse lifespans are approximately 25-30 years or longer (I looked it up). ;–)
  16. Why am I picturing a giant pendulum with Robbie hanging upside-down from the end of it? Swinging back and forth. With Robbie blacking out whenever the oscillations get wild enough…

I think even then Eric was concerned about his budget. My impression is that frugality was something he was forced to deal with all his life. And there were fewer choices when he was younger.
  18. Will we ever discover the identity of the person who shoved Robbie down the stairs? There seems to be one suspect now who didn’t seem to have a motive at the time… :–(
  19. Best lines ever! ;–)

The trouble with hiding in the Closet is that any potential partners can't see you cowering in the dark. There’s a certain amount of safety and protection there. But it’s difficult to meet anyone else. Eric is going to need to be both lucky and bold if he is to discover if Rob is also Gay. It would be useful if Rob saw him with Andy & Adam. Especially if Andy & Adam were involved in some minor PDAs at the time… ;–)

I’m glad that Eric committed himself to a repeat of his birthday dinner! It’s a sign that he’s accepting the adoption of Andy and Adam as part of his family. It’s a delicate balance to maintain: being generous to someone who can certainly use the assistance and avoiding offending his pride by overwhelming him with stuff.

I was thinking how sad it is that Eric’s life has been so limited. Most of us enjoy the fruits of our ever shrinking world with foods and ingredients being brought to us from around the world. We might be totally clueless about the cultures, but we eat meals that were inspired by cuisines all over the globe. (Oh course, much of what we think is authentic is unrecognizable to the people who are credited with their creation. And then there are the weird variations that are sometimes the results of cross-cultural hybridization and sometimes pure gluttony!) ;–)

    Chapter 2

I long ago discovered that most height differences disappear when you’re both lying down! And there are two different solutions to the other problem: doggy-style or a bag over his head! ;–)
  24. Jo is Don’s drag alter-ego? ;–) I know Don’s mental health was shaky at best, but that would be a Hollywood version of the effects of psychological stress! It only happens in books and movies. And Hollywood* is a deeply misogynistic and homophobic place filled with straight men who are terrified of being seen as effeminate. * The LGBTQ-dominated West Hollywood is a separate political entity. Hollywood itself is a district within the city of Los Angeles. But in this case Hollywood refers to the TV and movie industry rather than the geopolitical location. ;–)
  25. The only problem with Jo helping Robbie to resolve his issues is that it means the conclusion to The Cockney Canuck is imminent! ;–) Of course that also means the sequel, The Cockney and the Canuck can begin (the story of Robbie reuniting with Tom)! ;–) Go Team Tom! ;–)
