I'm pretty positive Mark has written Bitty, Jeanine, Isidore, and Tonto as having dark hair. The blondes would be Claire and Tiffany. Your mileage may vary, of course.

I loved the scene with them at Johnny Rockets. We used to have one in Delaware, but that closed up shop. There's this really cool resturant they should check out- it's called Windows on the World. It's a resturant that gives great views of the city and makes amazing cocktails, amazing. And if they go down, on the same complex there's this nice little shopping mall.

Armie Hammer from the Social Network as Captain Granger? I was thinking about it- he's tall, blond, well-built, with a face that's very strong yet still pretty. He looks WASPy as all hell. And the bonus is that, if you've ever heard his speaking voice, he has this voice that only a guy from a rich background could have.

I like Wade on the principle that he's actually of a higher class than the Cramptons/Schluters, which is pretty hard to pull off. They're blue-bloods in terms of Ohio and California, but the Danfields came over on the Mayflower. It's not like he ever lords that over them, but it's kinda funny to be reminded that the Cramptons aren't nearly as powerful as the Danfields are. I'm guessing the Danfields are based on the Bush family? As for Brad...geez, Tim. You've got an interesting way of intrepreting things. Not that it's' bad, just really different from the usual consensus we have on Brad.

I could totally see JJ as a future New Yorker. He'd love it- especially 5th Avenue.

I unfortunately didn't get to see pre-9/11 New York...I came there in June 2002. I saw Patrick Wilson in Oklahoma- he was great in it! I had a chance to see Rent, but I chose not to so I could hang out with some friends who were playing Lazer Tag. ( I was in 9th grade. Give me a break.) The Times Square McDonald's with the two stories was an interesting experience, LOL.

This chapter here really was back to the heart of the story- I LOVED Brad learning more about his biological father. And I loved them kissing each other after seeing Rent. I've only been to NYC once, and the memory of that amazing city is just seared into my brain. Times Square/Broadway are just awesome!

Well, that's because that would all be taking place down there. Not that we'd actually see it. Anyway, I was thinking Will's best bud Jason could turn emo, shop at Hot Topic, and put on eyeliner while blogging about his feelings on LiveJournal and posting artsy pictures of himself... In all honesty, I see Will as a guy who can get along with everybody, but mostly hangs with the surfer/skater/artist crowd...probably having a few friends who like to tag. Maybe breakdance. (Breakdancing has this weird comeback for some reason.) Will COULD make friends with the straight-edge kids, but I would imagine he would only be able to just barely tolerate them because the straight-edge kids were all such sanctimonious asses. Will would also occasionally smoke weed with the hippie vegan crowd, although he'd have to hide his leather jacket from them.

I kinda like the idea of Lark settling down with a nice native lady who bears him some adorable little mooches that call their best friends by one letter and doesn't mind when he sneaks off for ""surfing trips" with some buddies every once in awhile.

Good points. And I was thinking maybe Will's friend Jason might consider Virginia Tech or maybe UVA- Will could freak out when he hears that a college in Virginia had a school shooting, and worries about his friend for a bit. I had that experience- I knew a girl who went to school in Virginia, and it took me a few moments to realize that it wasn't the one that was on the news. As for Matt and Wade, I'm assuming that Tiffany would be a willing surrogate for them as they were willing sperm donors for her, but eh- you never know...if/when those kids come, some funny stuff could turn out that might sour relations. I've heard some nightmare stories about custody battles and the like. Interesting point about Wade's political career. I think Wade believes that he's not really going to pursue it, but it's so clearly in him to become a politician. I think he'd start out as a lobbyist for GLBT issues in Washington, and then go from there. Which...how would that tie into Matt? Would he be willing to live on the East Coast? The best solution would be him living in New York City at some business corporation while commuting back and forth to D.C., but still that'd be different. I like how there's a real, honest reason for them to break up aside from some drama about cheating- the idea that their lives are headed into two different directions after graduation. As for JJ...interesting thoughts there. I do think that if JJ does retire and go to college, he'd go absolutely nuts. After years of having to maintain a pristine image, I think JJ would really enjoy having the freedom to be a normal 21-year old guy instead. He could pledge a frat- maybe Sig Ep. Those guys were cool. (As long as it wasn't the Phi Kapps.) I don't don't see him with Kappa Delta Rho, either. Joining a frat could really shake JJ out of his prissiness. LOL. Or JJ could go the other way, and become a hipster who drinks PBR at the fashionably shabby bar while wearing girl-cut jeans and discussing the latest indie band with his similiarly-dressed friends.

Mark said he honestly has no clue what the next protagonist should be...so I was curious to see who you guys would like as the next protagonist. I'm going with Wade and Matt, in September 2000. It's a minor leap(Mark intends to end Millenium in March 2000), but I like the idea of them covering the 2000 election.
