Very painful chapter. Cal certainly has a lot of conflicting emotions running through him right now. He seems trapped in a maze, some of it of his own making. I believe he does need to tell Jayden that he loves him...for both their sakes. That's my sense of it anyway. Super chapter, Neph!

Stupendous chapter, Mark! Matt and Wade. I also liked the line where somwone asks Wade: "Who's the lucky girl?" "Matt." Definitely looking forward to Santa Cruz.

A much happier chapter, Jack! Really enjoyed it! I like the new character, Spence, too. Seems really hot...always a welcome addition. He comes off a lot like Spike for some reason. So now Drew sees himself as the good samaritan. That's funny. That was a good scene - between Drew and Spence. Looking forward to the Spence - Brad "interview" in the next chapter.

It seems to be a very painful time all around. Kudos to Brian for getting help with AA. Thanks for laying out the schedule, Adam.

I hope Cole really gets how much support there is for him from the team, his friends and especially Matt. He needs to get over the guilt. He needs to get past his upbringing if his self esteem is ever going to improve. Maybe the counseling will help. One thing's for sure, he won't be so trusting around women anymore. Men like Cole (trusting, vulnerable and adoring toward their women) are just fodder for women. As for the shank, exit stage right! Loved that! Danfield's sweet but he needs to grow a pair. He's certainly in the right place for it - what better friend could he have than Matt help him through this. I hope Matt doesn't pander him too much. Frankly, I don't think Matt has the patience to put up with his behaviour much longer.

I was pretty sure that Nye wasn't going to start singing, "...and these are a few of my favourite things." I was truly surprised with Adam's behaviour during all this. 2 more hours. Gulp!

It's always fascinating to observe how different people "respond" to childhood trauma. Bella decided to go nut-so. I think Jayden kind of folded up into himself somewhat. Had it not been for Cal, he likely would have continued folding. Now we have to wait and see how Jayden does. Don't let it take too long, Neph. I'm anxious to get to know Cal more. So far I see deep caring and I see volatile. Really enjoying the story!

What I love most about Stef is that he always seems to be in his "natural" state....what you see is what you get....and you get that consistently. Stef kicking Brad's ass was truly hilarious. So maybe Danfield is not so straight. Yes, Matt's new strategy seems to be working. He'll be in that boy's pants soon enough. Definitely looking forward to it. I enjoyed the heart-to-heart that Matt had with Cody. I'm hoping Cody follows through. Definitely some hot sex in that chapter.

Great chapter, Neph! Adam really laid on the charm in Chapter 4. He was actually sweet at times. The calm before the storm? Feeling nothing but trepidation with Lian on his way.

I'm thinking Matt should keep his hands off Cody...as difficult as that likely is! Cody needs to figure things out, especially now that he's living with Brian. Matt's interventions keep Cody stuck in the same place he's been for a long time now. Given Matt's feelings for Danfield, his thing with Cody is all ego anyway. I know Cody's an adult and can look after himself but Matt isn't doing him any favours.

I'm happy to know you're going to take care of the cliffhanger from chap 18 in a timely manner. Kudos to Rover for not leaving Slade there on the floor while the room around them was disintegrating. Was it courage or the power of lust? Great chapters, FishWings! I hope the midterms went well.

I really had a tough time getting through chapter 3. The good news is it wasn't because of your writing ...which is always superb, Jack. I was not impressed with Jack Gamble's reasoning around leaving his son. Yes, his ex was a total bitch, but even with that there's no justification for leaving his son the way he did. Sons need their fathers. I guess that's a pet peeve of mine. The other thing was Drew's concept of being more a best friend to Cray, rather than a "parent". Again, a pet peeve of mine. Cray has friends. I don't believe he needs another friend in Drew. Yes, he's an adult, but just barely. I believe Cray still very much needs the "rock" that Drew (and Bob) have been to him. I hate getting emotional.

Beautiful, beautiful chapter, Duncan! I didn't want this chapter to end. Btw, your opening post sucks. God forbid I should feel happy about this story for a week or two. Sure, leave me with that foreboding stuff. You would have made a great oncologist...."Your father's responding well to the latest treatment. But, I must say, I think he'll croak anyway." Perhaps I'm being harsh. Where else can I get my heart ripped from my chest cavity and enjoy the experience as well.

I did predict that Cole would apologize! Unfortunately, that's as close as I got. Great chapter, Mark. I didn't see that coming at all.

Thanks for posting, Neph! Happy, happy, happy. I had an inkling about what Bella was up to at the end of chapter 4. Isn't there a rule in the writer's book of rules that you can't kill the protanganist in the first 10 chapters??? My rule is if the protanganist is male, cute and sexy, you can't kill him at all! Clever way to get really good drugs!
