  1. When you are born, as a baby, you are helpless, so you have adults wiping your butt and cleaning you up. As you get older, you are potty trained and learn to wipe your own butt and clean yourself up. Then you go on to get an education, and hopefully, find a fulfilling occupation. Maybe have a family and kids of your own. After a period of time, the infirmaries of old age start to creep in or maybe you get some debilitating disease and possibly end up in a nursing home or a long term car facility where you realize that you have come full circle and once again you have adults wiping your butt and cleaning you up.
  2. With all the "King Cake" parties that I attended when I was youngster, and all the King Cake that I consumed at said parties, I never once got the golden bean trinket (which in later years was changed to a small plastic baby trinket). Of course, that meant that I never had to provide the cake for the next party.
  3. The Mardi Gras 2014 season in New Orleans was officially opened last night with the Twelfth Night Revelers ball. The season runs until midnight on Mardi Gras or Fat or Shrove Tuesday [which this year is March 4th] the day before Ash Wednesday. There will balls and parties until then with parades during the last two weeks before Mardi Gras day. At midnight on Mardi Gras day, Rex, the king of carnival, and his queen will go to meet the king and queen of Comus and thus bring to a close the 2014 Mardi Gras Season.
  4. Now why would anyone want to insult those crabs in that bag?
  5. I'm not going to post another quote for awhile and throw it open to anyone who still wants to play to post one. I'll give it a least day before I consider posting another quote... if no one else does in that time.
  6. If memory serves (and it doesn't always) this is from "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf." 1966 Movie was based on Edward Albee's play of the same title. Starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

  8. As you did with "Things to Come". I know this title, but I'll let someone else have a chance to play. I suppose it helps to have about 720 films in my library.
  9. YAY! You are correct. H.G. Wells wrote the screen play based on his novel "The Shape of Things to Come". Raymond Massey played the lead role. Have a Merry Christmas all. Oh! It's your turn.
  10. Arabi, Louisiana
  11. Seal Rock, Oregon
  12. I tell myself that I'm not going to do that next year, but then... Anyway, back to the business at hand: A bit before Scarlet and Dorothy showed their colors, and a bit before my time, Raymond held forth on an interesting subject.
  13. Sorry, No. Clues to start a little later. When I get back... have some last minute shopping to do... as usual. LOL
  14. The quote is attributed to H.G. Wells, but was used in a movie.

  17. Thanks. Always been a fan of films. Especially since I grew up in an era with no TV or internet. Just radio and the Saturday movie matinee. Try this one: "If we don't end war, war will end us."

  19. Tillamook, Oregon

  22. O'Toole appeared in 34 stage plays, 64 films and 26 TV shows. He was the only actor to have been nominated for 8 Academy Awards and never won one, although he won many other awards during his career. He was one of very few who was nominated for playing the same character in two different films. Henry II in "Becket" and "Lion in Winter". His role as T.E. Lawrence in "Lawrence of Arabia" was surely the role that brought him to the public's attention and "What's New Pussycat" was not, by a long shot, one of his best films, but I guess if you discount everything else that made up his career he wasn't famous.
  23. Yes! Jack Frost talking to Man in Moon. Your turn Mickey.
