We can and will survive until the next chapter is out but if it takes to long we may have to discuss the use of a cat o nine tails.... You wouldn't like that would you????

Well, the battle has been joined and Nelson is starting to pull off an action that ended up actually being named after him. I was so excited while I read this story; I really felt that I was on board one of the ships preparing for the onslaught. While I will miss both Roberts and Gatling, their departure allows for new officers to come aboard. Of course, this gives Granger a chance to find a new officers to interact with and maybe enjoy in other ways as well. I am glad that Granger will be on the way to London after the battle, I hope that Granger gets to do something in the battle; this would be very rare for a ship of his size in a battle such as this but it is Granger we are talking about... LOL... I can't wait for the next chapter so the battle can continue. Keep up the great work Mark, this is such a great series.

I had to read the latest chapter three times to make sure I didn't miss anything. This was one of those delicious morsels that you just have to savor again and again. I cannot believe how much Wade loves Matt. It just radiates out of him and comes through so much during the events in this chapter. You can tell that even if God/Mark forbid, Matt and Wade don't end up together they will always have this amazing connection that really will always be there. Carl is to stupid to really be the mastermind of a plot to break Matt and Wade up, but I am starting to wonder if there isn't someone else behind him pulling the strings. This almost seems like something that Elizabeth " The Evil Overlord " Danfield would be involved in, I just can't see her endgame yet. I love how Will can be pissed and torture JJ but no one else better try to do so. It is amazing how Will comes to JJ defense and does so as aggressively as he does. Here he is a 14 y/o and he is challenging guys several years older to protect JJ. I have to also say it is great how both Matt and Wade care about these kids and how they treat them. They both do what they can to make sure that both JJ and Will get validation and attention from them both. I love but am a little unsure about this sudden wave of attention that Matt is showing Gathan. I can see him trying to be nicer and help him to score points with Wade, but a blowjob in the bathroom were under most circumstances no one would have ever known seems well curious? I do think that Matt and Gathan are sort of like each other in certain ways and I could see a three way with Matt, Wade, and Gathan being well, freaking hot...... One had to allow this story to marinate in the mind a little to uncover all the layers of delicate perfection contained within. This is a story were the layers have to peeled back one layer at a time. Each layer just a little more delicate and delicious than the one before.

OMG, I loved Praise You by Fatboy Slim. That was the perfect song for that moment in the story... I hadn't even thought about that song in years... -
I think that we all need to remember that at the time of this battle, Granger is just barely 20 years of age. I know that at that time in history that was almost middle age but still not much time for someone to know how to handle himself in every situation. Granger becasue of his position and educational advantage would be far ahead of most of his contemporaries but even then nothing can really replace good old fashion life experience. Mark has created a world that has drawn many into it's embrace. This is partly because the stories in this series are so well written but also because he is able to so seemlessly blend historical action with a story and people that we can really care about.

Well, what can I say about the latest chapter of Paternity but magnificient.... The story development is just great with this story. I can't wait to see what happens next. I loved how Wade called everyone out on the tradition issue. In sports and life, the traditions are often what defines us as a group, team, or family. I would expect someone from an old important Southern family to be big on traditions. Wade will never be able to play the " I am quitting " card again. Once you play something like that and then don't follow through you really can't use it again. You know that Matt didn't want him gone because they understand each other so well, and that will always translate onto the ice. I was really impressed by how Matt treated Gathan. It maybe a temporary thing but I think it is so important for Gathan's development and perhaps the teams as well. I had really sort of forgotten about Mary Ellen, maybe she can show up and her and Gathan can have a fling. Wouldn't that add to the drama of it all??? I can't wait to see where all of this goes with Wade and Sean and how Matt plays into it. You just know that at some point there is going to be a really hot three way. I still sort of want to see Matt and Wade in a polygamous relationship that actually works. I don't know why I think they would follow that path but it just hit me a while back and I can't seem to move past it... Mark, this is truly a wonderful story and series you have created. I know you commented a while back that someone wanted you to lay off of the CAP series and focus on the Bridgemont series, I will admit the Bridgemont series is my favorite; but don't do it. You have to follow your muse and be true to yourself. You have created two of the best online series I have ever come across and you shouldn't change a thing except do what you do best... WRITE...

I have never considered JP to be even marginally a sociopath. I do think he was able to compartmentalize his life to an extent that he was able to do things not considered acceptable to protect those that he cared about. Would any of us, if we had the guts, do any less to protect those we care about? I do think that Jeff's death, more than anything else has always haunted him. I was never really sure that JP gave up on Jeff as much as Jeff just realized he would never beat his addiction and gave up on himself. Even though Sam went back to Claremont to kill Jeff, he had already made the decision to end his own life. I really do believe that there are those that cannot overcome their demons and for some of them death is the only way out. I think JP always has blamed himself for not being able to save Jeff but some people just cannot be saved no matter how much you love them.

Loved the latest chapter, and agree that the build up to the battle was great. I have been reading up on this battle quite a bit since you started this story. It really was a great British victory. The fact that the British fleet was so well trained and that the Spainish fleet had less than 200 trained sailors, truly made the victory possible. Although the British fleet had a number of cases of true herorism, Nelson, chief among them; the ineptitude of the Spainish more than anything brought about there defeat. I can't wait for the battle. I can smell the gunpowder already...

I went back through the stories with Wade and I really do think this is the first mention of an Uncle. Methodwriter's suggestion is interesting but not sure if that is were the story is going. I do think there is something maybe he was developmentally or mentally challenged??? I do think that there is more with Carl than mets the eyes... I am not sure why but it sort of reminds me of Carson with Robbie, and no, not just because that has been mentioned. There just seems to be something sort of dangerous about this whole situation. I do think that Wade will fight for what he cares about and that is Matt and his son.

How close are we getting to the battle, in reality is should be getting pretty close. I can't wait to feel the breeze and the fine spray of salt water as Granger and his ship rushes toward the firing cannons of the enemy. I do hope that we get to spend sometime back in London after the battle dealing with the family issues as well, I can't wait to see how that comes out in the end. I still think a nice carriage accident for Freddie and Davina would be the best. It would be over quick and then what a lovely funeral we could have... I am sure that Caroline could take care of all the details...

Just got through reading the new chapter of Paternity and WOW... I loved the scene with Wade and Sean and no, I don't mean the one in the boardroom. I loved the interaction over the meal. The back and forth and give and take was just pitch perfect. I did enjoy the scene in the boardroom but it was sort of just a teaser I think. I am glad that Matt seems to be taking Wade's advice but I can tell, something is gonna have to be done to slap down this Carl. He is just not going to give up, I am still not sure what his game is though. This seems to be more than just trying to get with Matt or play him. I can bet there is a serious agenda here and I have to wonder if it is just Carl, or is there someone else behind it??? I do have to wonder how long Tiffany will put up with the living situation if Jeanine isn't getting any better. I hope that this side of the story is continued or there is at least some follow up. I cannot believe how into this story I am getting. This is quickly becoming my favorite in the series since the the Land Whore. For me, the first three stories are still the best but this one is moving past all the rest rapidly.

Hmmm, well based open what he is wearing in the second and third pictures; that explains what is wrong with men's fashion coming out of Paris...

I can't find where her maiden name was used, it just says she brought the money into the marriage and that she was heiress to a large tobacco fortune... I was just using Doiris Duke as an example of a tobacco heiress, when she died she was worthh several billion dollars...

Totally enjoyed the new chapter of Paternity, this story is the best one for me since the early ones in this series. I really can feel the emotions and attitudes that the people in this story are having. I am just completely drawn to everyone in this story. When Matt was making love to Wade and started crying, I ended up balling like a baby. I had to stop reading until I could calm down. I really think now that Sean Massey will be the one that ends up with Wade and Matt. I know that Mark made a comment that he thought maybe someone more submissive then the two of them were what they needed but I really think they need someone a little older, wiser, and more in control. I am not talking about someone to run their lives, no Master/slave or Daddy/boy kind of relationship. Just someone to help mentor and teach them a little more about love and live. I think he would have to be someone a little more dominate in order to bring them both to heel and heal. I could really see them in a long lasting polygamous relationship. Am I the only one???
-
I think that when Wade was first introduced there was mention that his mother, Elizabeth, was only heir to a large tobacco fortune... I was sort of thinking Doris Duke but without all the issues, or maybe just with different one...

Hmmm... I have fond memories of the navy in me, does that count too????????

Okay, I am with Methodwriter on this one, the pale anorexic blond looks bored and one negative comment away from slitting his wrist. This just isn't how JJ has been described. He was always said to be really cute, the blond isn't, and bubbly and puppydogish maybe??? Most skaters even young ones have really good muscle tone and development and the waif look just isn't skaterish at all. I do think it would have been smarter to send JJ to a place where he didn't have to be in his brother's shadow all the time, but where would the drama be then??? I would think though that they might both be popular in different ways. I don't think either of them have a desire to be BMOC like so many in the previous generations. I think the idea that Will especially can get along with all cliques or groups would be true. He will be more a force behind the scence rather than leading for a position in front, does that make sense?

Well I awoke to a joyous event, a new chapter of St Vincent... It was magnificient. The interplay between Granger and the other officers including Nelson is sparkling and the way each event moves the whole forward is just perfect. I am sure that everyone was glad to have Lt Roberts and Captain Somers back, especially Gaitling... The thought of a three way with Sir Kerry, Captain Somers, and Granger sounds like a grand time to be had by all. I wonder if Roberts will want to take Gaitling with him when he goes? Well, I know this was sort of jumbled but I was in still in the throes of delirium from the brilliant new chapter...

When Granger was receiving the information about the Brotherhood after he was admitted, it was clearly stated that an attack on one person in the group was an attack on all of the Brotherhood. When he asked about what would happen if there was an attempt to reveal what is going on in the Brotherhood, he was clearly told that it was the duty of all members to kill those that made the attempt to expose the Brotherhood or it's members. In the time this story takes place, being exposed as a homosexual would have been a death warrant for some and meant total social destruction for all. I don't think the members would hesitate to kill anyone to protect the group. I would think that Davina's attempt to get the goods so to speak on Granger would clearly qualify for an attack on Granger at least if not an attack on the Brotherhood as a whole. Davina must die... Really what do we have to do, get Elizabeth Danfield time warped back to the past to take care of this problem???
-
Well, wasn't this new chapter somewhat of a stickey wicket so to speak. I have to admit, I never thought about a situation like this arising but I can see how it might have been a real issue. Mark handled it with his usual deft touch and left you wondering what could be next. It seems like Granger and Sir Phillip Kerry will have a lot of fun, I do want to make sure that Lord Chartley gets a chance to get back into the picture. I do have to wonder how or even why Sir Phillip seems to know so much about Granger's family property and finances. It seems that is just a little strange, I would have thought the Earl was a little more discreet. It seems to me that even if Davina's family is that powerful, if the Brotherhood decides this is an attack against one of their members, they could remove Freddie and Davina with little repercussions. It would seem that Davina trying to place a spy aboard and get proof of Granger's behaviour would be seen as an attack against the Brotherhood, not just a family matter.

I just love the holidays, they seem to bring out a desire by Mark to share the wealth, after all how do you explain a new chapter for Paternity and St Vincent both. I love how Wade stood up to his mother and how he let her know that his adoptive family was as important as his birth family. You can tell by how he talked to and interacted with Brad afterward that he will always stand by them as well. I am not sure that having Jeanine and Tiffany that close together will be for the best, although I do think that JP and Isidore will handle it better than Brad and Robbie would and have so far. With Wade and Matt at Escorial as much as they are, it will put a lot of pressure on everyone. Pressure can create beautiful diamonds but can also be deadly in other ways. I do think that Elizabeth needs to remember what Brad is really capable of, no, I don't think he would actually have Elizabeth killed but he will do a lot to protect those in his life. Even with all of her advantages, I would put JP, Stef, and Brad up against Elizabeth individually much less as a group. I was actually really disappointed in how the date with Ben Solomon went. I really think that Wade and Matt could both benefit from being in a relationship with really Alpha male. I know that to some extent both Wade and Matt are both Alpha males but there is a streak of beta running through both of them, at least I think. I was thinking that maybe Ben Solomon might be that kind of guy but maybe Sean Massey will be the one. I expect a lot of people will disagree with me on this but I think it could really help them and make the story very interesting....

It wasn't, it was just totally dumb... I was in my 30's when the show started so maybe that was why I just didn't get it at all.... -
Well, something else I just thought off, maybe mutiny isn't being used in a naval meaning... Maybe Freddie and Davina try to mutiny against the Earl and the rest of the family, I vote we kill them both in a very horrible way... Hmmm, how was Edward II killed again?

Okay, on to this latest chapter... Am I the only one that caught a couple of refrences to what Grafton's dad would like that was said really sarcastically??? Is he going to turn out to be the dad from hell, like completely racist and homophobic? Is there a subplot developing here that is more than meets the eyes? A dad in need of money for a divorce or whatever and all the sudden his son is around a group of very wealthy gay men??? Could it be shades of the M Jackson civil suits? Well, maybe I am just being paranoid. I think that after reading this chapter that much of Grafton's problems are parent induced, although being a teenager probably doesn't help... LOL... I think he was truly remorseful toward JJ and that JJ sensed that and accepted it at face value. Being pulled between two parents is never easy, we forget what damage we do to our young. Cody going after Grafton for a movie or TV or modeling gig would be a way to bring Cody into this story as more than just the father of one of the new babies. Plus, that might give Grafton leverage with or against both of his parents. Grafton and Shiloh were obviously more than just a moment in time, did they go to far and have to take care of the consequences or could Grafton maybe not perform; curious minds want to know... Mark, this is shaping up to be one of the better stories in this series and that is saying a hell of a lot...

Eb5 is the absolute best.... It is weird how one coast seems to live in a tanning booth and the other seems to get skin peels to keep their skin nice and white or light...
