Great start! I'm in for the duration.

The time delayed NBC showing of the parade of athletes actually went well in the opening ceremony which still was a bit long otherwise. I think the Brits did an outstanding job especially with having to be compared to China last time. The fact that the home field advantage was well played and Great Britain did well in the medals was inspiring as well. Also, now London bankers and government officials can get back to business and hopefully muddle through the current recession.

I'm happy for you Cia. American culture is s l o w l y shedding some of its Puritan roots and bias. But it seems for every step forward there are two steps back....

The chapter was very thought provoking as this forum has shown. However, I think Will is smarter than we may give him credit for and that emancipation is not his end-game but rather the stick he plans to use to get Brad to see the light. I think his next step is to have a little talk with Steff and have his finances in place. I can't wait to see where Mark takes this.

The latest chapter is up and has a few surprises. I would not have guessed it was Trevor that was forced to do Mary Ellen. Wade gets back to DC and he is immediately back in the world of political intrigue and payback stepped up like being inside a pressure cooker. Paly must look better and better every time he goes back east.

I would have never guessed it was Trevor. The scheming Elizabeth Danfield is a true manipulator. I can't wait for the next chapter.

Someone in the reviews voiced the opinion that the latest chapter was short and I concur. It does seem that the B is a packed ship with plenty of people with a history of serving George. A little jostling for his attention would seem to be natural. I suspect the voyage will be anything but easy.

The new chapter from Wade's POV seems to be setting the stage for some more fun. Wade's call the reporter with the story likely to appear in the Sunday paper before the election may cause some reaction. His foreknowledge about the terms of the agreement with Jason could be turned to his advantage if he gets back to his contact with the reporter to provide a little background about the deal. Mom could be knee deep in dog dirt if he plays that right. His reading of JP was spot on and the little tidbit about Michael being let go with severence pay and not being punished is still an unfinished bit of business. The doubt about Brad and his role in the family as JP's defacto "dauphin" was also interesting. All in all, much to think about and the next chapter is eagerly anticipated from my point of view!

Three things struck me. First: Jason telling Wade that he has to describe the machinations of the land deal after the election and the corollary of Wades talking to the reporter. Second: Wade and JP's point about Michael getting to walk and with severence to boot. Third: Wade's observation about Will being involved with Jeff and reminding us about Jeff's controlling desire to be the "only" one. The election is finally about up and from the portents it may be melodramatic.

Somehow based on the info in the chapter it seems that Trevor and Shane are going to have to convincingly fake their deaths in order to get off the cartel's death list. With the Newspaper guy taking pictures and bribing the clerk, I am sure that somehow that more than the news the want to get out, will get out and that Bridget and thus the cartel will decide our two intrepid sailors must die. I wonder if CJ is laying the groundworks for a sequel?

So perhaps Mark's Odyssey is going to parallel Homer's more than we thought. Hopefully, it won't take 10 years for the voyage! But quoting from Wiki: "Among the most noteworthy elements of the text are its non-linear plot, and the influence on events of choices made by women and serfs, besides the actions of fighting men. In the English language as well as many others, the word odyssey has come to refer to an epic voyage."

The situation with Michael somehow seems ufinished and hopefully, Will's new security person can deal with things should he re-appear. Will's relentless reminder to Brad of his promise to be home more showed his dependence on their relationship. JJ standing up to this dad was interesting. I am looking forward to hearing things from Wade's POV and how he gets throught the election drama.

JJ was finally able to get it on with his roomie after the event was over! Good for him. It was also nice to see JJ stand up for himself toward his dad. Maybe the kid is growing up a bit! Will is so not going to let Brad revert to being gone all the time. Michael; seems like a bit of unfinished business....
