    Feints and counter feints, but luck was on the side of Rachel and Fowler. When the kooky kid almost pressed the button on the signal device, I almost passed out. Shane and Trev are clueless. Hopefully, the witch remains clueless for at least a while as well. The issue of the paper that carries part 2 of the story is going to be an eyeopener and will cause problems. Hopefully, it will cause things to come to a head for the evil villains of the piece well before Shane and Trev reach the Panama Canal Zone. Still a lot of loose ends to tie up...

    Hurray! The bad guys were foiled and are under surveillance. The witch is falsely relieved and Trev and Shane are clueless.

    The Cards couldn't score over the course of the last few games and that doomed them. My prediction for the World Series is that the Giants will do well. (I always root for the National League team.)

    Three years and counting! It has been an epic ride and I've enjoyed most of it, at least when I wasn't worried sick over the latest cliff-hanger! Serial novels are an artform. As a reader however, I prefer to plow through a completed novel. When this one is done, I will probably read it through again just to immerse myself in the story.

    I fixed it. I started out to talk about last year and lead into this year but changed and then screwed up! That's my story and I am sticking to it!

    I too find this story compelling and George seems to certainly have better luck at sea and it seems soon to be rid of Conway as well. A chapter in each saga is bounty beyond price! Thanks from a fan!

    "....good food and subjecting himself to tedious company." That is a nicely turned phrase, something Mark usually accomplishes toward the end of each chapter. Now George just has to get the troublemaker Conway to be convinced that getting off the ship is also in his best interest.....and I can see that will happen too.

    Glad to see the new chapter! The teenage angst does get to be a bit much, but that is teenagers. However, I too am anticipating the change in POV with Wade going back to VA for Thanksgiving to see the machinations his mother tries.

    Thanks for another chapter! I liked how it developed and played out. Will learned a little bit more about himself and his relationship with Darius just improved too! I am still anticipating the change in POV to Wade because all the teenage angst gets to be too much.

    Cards' batting has stayed cold as the Giants have hit their stride. One last chance tonight for both teams in a winner take all game. As far as the World Series, 2010 and 2011 both went to the National League team. The Tigers have some good pitchers and a few good hitters. Either National League team could beat them but, like life, anything can happen over the course of a 7 game series.....

    After a lot of thought, mine is Jack from Will & Grace. He made being campy and effeminate funny and non-threatening which I think taught a lot of people a little about acceptance. Someone mentioned Paul Lynde, he too did it, but many people were clueless at the time as to his orientation and didn't really learn acceptance. They just laughed.

    The Cards never quit and scrap until the last out. Hopefully with Carp on the mound they will settle down and bear down and put this series away today!

    The Giants are good and now we must go back to San Francisco. After the above mentioned inning, the Cards seemed to lose their momentum and, the dynamics of the game shifted markedly.

    St. Louis is crazy.....about their Redbirds! There will be a sea of RED all around town today in their honor. After the Giants came back and won three in a row in Cincinnati in the divisional series, (and broke their fans hearts) you can never count them out as long as they have a chance. But we broke a lot of hearts in DC when we spotted the Nationals a six run lead and then came back and won the deciding game 5. So I expect a lot of drama tonight, because it ain't over 'til it's over just as we proved last year in game 6 of the World Series against the Rangers. I also agree with Krista, barring some major unexpected injuries, it looks like 'Bama all the way in college football.

    Cards win! Lead best of seven series, three games to one! They can close it out tomorrow night in St. Louis. If they do, the city will GO CRAZY!

    Tigers win in a sweeeeep! Now we need the Cards to win a couple more! They are off to a good start tonight!

    The Tigers are one win away from winning the ALCS. Verlander did win the other night. Last night's rainout also works in Detroit's favor as Sabathia won't be available for any necessary game 7. In the National League, my Cards are up 2 games to 1 and need two more. If we could wrap it up in St. Louis today and tomorrow, the town will GO CRAZY!

    I think sdaddy got it right in his observations and said them before I got around to it. So CJ, I hope you have thought up a suitably incredibly shocking and horribly painful slow demise for the Sea Witch. I also hope you manage to provide a few problems for Gray and company as well as the cartel. Just wishing & hoping!

    Well Carp had his troubles and the Giants were primed and ready to pounce. The NLCS is even at a game a piece. The ALCS game 3 is at 8 pm Eastern US time zone tonight and is in Detroit with the Tigers up already having won the first two of the best of seven. Verlander is scheduled to pitch and so I wouldn't bet against Detroit tonight.

    We know that at least one of the boats is rigged to blow. The antenna was rigged to the big antenna, but is that the one they took down and then put up without connecting it on the other boat. Please let it be so.... While the chapter end was not a cliff hanger, the whole remaining story is as we wait to see how it ends and whether justice is cruelly and righteously served on the miscreants from the sea witch on down.

    NO hockey for the Blues, the season is slowly being cancelled due to labor contract negotiations. But the BASEBALL Cardinals are still flying in the Middle of October! Post-Season playoffs. Gotta love 'em!
