MARINE- the Life of Chesty Puller
by Burke Davis
ISBN: 0-553-27182-2
Chesty Puller joined the Marines in 1918. He chased bandits in Haiti and Nicaragua (horse-thieves and child-rapists that would later become the legendary Sandinistas under Commie-stodge Ortega).
He fought all the way through WWII in the Pacific from Guadalcanal, the Palaus and Cape Gloucester. In Korea he was at Inchon and the Chosin Reservoir.
Puller was one of the "Old Breed" Marine officers that knew how to fight and win. He had little patience with officer/politicians.
He made quite a lot of history. He was at the Battle of Edison's Ridge on Guadalcanal which turned the tide and of particular interest is his work in Korea and afterwards.
To this day, he's the only man that has ever won five Navy Crosses.

I get that too. I wonder if people write to the FBI about Agatha Christi since she seems to know entirely too much about murder.
In some of the stuff I write about people criticize the drugs and the violence and whine because there's not a ball bruising sex scene in every chapter.
Some people have great difficulty separating the content from the author. I guess it's like lame-ass Trekkies that go up to William Shatner and call him Captain Kirk.
You can't please them all but you know they are reading even if they are bitching about it.
PS- I was always a margarita or a dacari guy.
Not everyone has read Asimov but Twilight- I get hate email saying they thought it was fan-fic for those f*&^%g s*&^tty vampire movies.
I'm really surprised that Remembering Joey didn't get nominated. I get tons of email about it.
Condolences Dom. Been there and would rather go to the dentist. At least he gives you laughing gas when he rips something out by the roots that you've had all your life.
One thing that I caught that means a whole lot: I DO NOT LIKE THE WORD ABOMINATION. That word has been used on me like a lash and had me acting like an abomination because that is how I thought that I was supposed to act.
A biblical scholar discussed how that word was changed from the Greek and Latin texts to the English in the King James Version.
The English meaning for the word abomination is a horror or horrible.
In the original Hebrew it means not customary or goes against custom.
In Leviticus, the old verse man shall not lie with man is equivalent to eating shellfish.
Eating Mexican or Chinese food may not be customary but it is hardly an abomination. This shows quite clearly how the bibles original intent and meaning has been shaped by all of the various people, cultures and languages that have translated it.
Falwell and Robinson both told people that New Orleans was devastated by Katrina because it was tolerant of homosexuals.
Neither one of them made any friends down here.
Love it, hate it, don't care: you have to admit that there is a magic to the place that doesn't exist anywhere else.
Four years ago when Katrina destroyed most of the city, we were afraid that the magic was gone.
Today... the magic is back.
Magic!

Sorry moderators...
I won't rag you about smoking weed. Just don't start more dangerous hobbies. I like you.
Most people do much better in school if they quit.
If you do quit for a few of months, the TCH that has built up in you system causing your tolerance will be metabolized away. You can start blazing away again by spring and get that giddy, goofy feeling again.

Many Christians DO actually stand for something besides hating gays. For somebody like me, deep in the heart of the "babble" belt, sometimes its not so easy to notice.
BTW- welcome Cody. I might have been a Lutheran myself but my ancestors settled in Mississippi after buying a compass from a street vendor in New York when they arrived. Mississippi, Minnesota.. its a mistake anyone could have made right?
