  1. "A Haiku must "paint" a mental image in the reader's mind. This is the challenge of Haiku - to put the poem's meaning and imagery in the reader's mind in ONLY 17 syllables over just three (3) lines of poetry" (three lines with 5, 7, 5 sylables per line) from: http://volweb.utk.ed...risms/haiku.htm So with so many word players around...shall we have a go? ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` asphalt steam rising meeting lips muscles straining blissful steam clouds sigh ```````````````````````````````````````````

  14. hi, actually what you need is a player, the .mov file is a quicktime (Apple) format. "Common multimedia format often used for saving movies and other video files; uses a proprietary compression algorithm developed by Apple Computer; compatible with both Macintosh and Windows platforms." just download the free Quicktime player for your particular OS (thing I don't like about Quicktime is the hard sell they used to have, wanted you to upgrade to the *pro* version for a price.) the free player works just fine. free conversion programs are out there as well, just google mov to avi or something similar check this out from CNET http://download.cnet.com/Pazera-Free-MOV-to-AVI-Converter/3000-2194_4-10798308.html good luck

  16. thanks for this info. I followed Luke and Noah until they exhausted my patience with the "waiting until the time is right" moment. In the meantime every het couple was shagging like they were on a soap opera...(oh, wait, never mind) anyway I might give the Y&TR a go, funny thing my mom watches that one religiously. Wonder if she'll have anything to say about the gay story line? she's had over 30 years to get used to my gay story line in our family I've kept up with Luke and Noah peripherally, through youtube, still think they're a hot couple but the writing on that show...I'm surprised some of the actors don't just burst out laughing (IMO, it is bad writing, uninspired, rehashed stuff.) Although, I sympathize with them to some extent, they have to be creative while appeasing the suits and the audience. An audience that can sometimes be vocal about pushing "limits." again thanks for the info, I was wondering if the gay themes would pick up since the Luke and Noah storyline seemed to generate publicity and high ratings...
  17. after watching the whole five episodes in one sitting...yeah, that's what I needed a pitcher of margaritas and some really sad Mexican cry in your beer songs...maybe not, as it was I was moody all Sunday *sigh and reading the above homophobic stuff just added to it. I think I saw that in a brit review or maybe AfterElton...while looking around for other reactions to the series. misery loves company...so true p.s. Excuse, your typing did not reflect your "condition" when I'm tipsy, my spelling goes right out the windoe..:-)
  18. You're the devil aren't you...I'm at work and it will be 9 hours before I can get time to read this...arghhhh can't forget my manners, thanks for the update
  19. bless you lad, you give words to a silent hope I've been percolating since episode 5 that rift activity will bring them all back, starting with Tosh and Owen... wouldn't that be a hoot, and it could be a lead-in from the Doctor's regeneration episode, what if Jack has joined him and that's where it starts to wind its way into season 4 of Torchwood with the whole gang back...a reboot to season 1... I know, I know "hope springs eternal..." I'll hang on to anything at this point...
  20. that's the puzzling thing, there is/was no indication the series is ending. It's hard to imagine how it could continue though. I know this is scifi and like soap operas there are many ways for characters to come back from the dead but still... and then there is Capt. Jack and his actions in this...it's painted him in a most disturbing way...(trying not to give away too much by way of spoilers) redemption for Capt. Jack? I don't know I'm still disturbed even 12 hours after watching the last episode. It just seems cruel the way the whole thing went. I can appreciate the darkness of it, the beauty in the writing and story...I don't have to like it...guess that is confusing me as much as anything. I think my emotional investment in these characters seems somehow betrayed... Reacting to the story long after the telling guess that's what makes for good art, eh? Interesting to note the reactions from around the world, the fandom and the reviews in the UK...seems I'm not the only one in the quagmire
  21. Just watched all 5 episodes in one sitting last night. I think I imploded several times, not much left at the end. I dragged myself off to bed and then had a hard time going to sleep. I think the show was brilliant, amazing acting, action, scifi writing. I hated it...they took our favorite characters and either killed them or made them very hard to love. What has been the reaction in the UK? Have there been mobs rioting in the streets? The series was always a little edgy and dark with a touch of humor, but damn, this was a bit much. The funny thing is I was worried moving it to BBC1 (supposedly a more family friendly channel) according to fan sites would water down the series and characters, especially the gay relationship. Well bullocks they certainly messed with my mind. (sorry this might sound like a bit of a vent) (it is)
  22. just so you know, reading this leisurely is definitely the way to go. subliminal stuff with kids...don't know about that, maybe if you text it they will wash... I agree Thomas is probably the stronger of the two, just the strength it takes to be a survivor would have given him an edge in resilience, it's confidence and as you say finding his footing that is missing. I think they would make a lovely couple. thanks again
  23. oh, no! major upset I didn't expect that I've been waiting for the fifth episode to be "made available" online. I'll have to have some tissues for the weeping that's bound to occur. how could they do that? **spoiler** tag would have been nice but now I'm prepared for it...thanks I think...
  24. just found this story of yours after connecting with you this week. wow, just...wow I'm at work, and will read this again when I get home, in my comfy chair with a mug or brew to keep me cool. I love these characters, the under currents of pain, drama in Thomas' past, just hinted at, the smitten behavior of Seth (a name that just melts my butter, for some reason) you did all this in two chapters! The journey to complete redemption from past pain and insecurity for both...(sequel) now that is a wide open road (sequel) and the previous suggestion (sequel) of exploring the touch/sight senses as an end in itself in the storyline...(sequel) that would be nice. no pressure (sequel) and I don't know what (sequel) you're talking about (sequel) this subliminal stuff...what's that
