    Misunderstandings and best intentions are bad bad things. Josh is fighting his battles, but Ash is getting caught in the crossfire and he just can't cope. In their defence (not that they deserve it) both Josh and the headmaster think they're doing the right thing for Ash as well as themselves.

    Josh isn't quite ready to throw away his morals and his job. He's fighting with his attraction for Ash and his belief he's taking advantage of him.

    Thank you. Ash's father is pretty typical for the place I live. My daughter is gay and I was surprised how many of her friends had been thrown out of home at a relatively young age. It's sad, but it happens.

    The kind of headmaster I used to have. He'd come out to the house if we were 'mitching' and he used corporal punishment until he retired. He didn't use a cane but a 'dap' a running shoe, across the backside. Thankfully I never experienced it but plenty of my friends did. Ypu're absolutely right, he was glad it sopped Ash coming to school anymore. It solved a problem he didn't know how to deal with

    I know those boys and the fact is, they didn't beat Ash because he was gay, they beat Ash because he was mouthy. He hit back. If he'd kept his mouth shut and his head down he'd have been fine. That's the way of it here. If you have a smart mouth you get a kicking. It's a ways of life - fighting is the norm. Okay, they went too far, but people often do. I'm pretty sure they didn't really mean to hurt Ash as much as they did, just to 'teach him a lesson' for getting the better of them and giving them 'lip'.

    This story was set in the place I live and it's still very much like that. My mother never really forgave me for going to university. She thinks it made me big headed and 'above myself'

    That's one of the most wonderful reviews ever. To think my darlings have made a friend warms me so much. And for you to say you have grown with them is a dream for every writer.Both these stories are released as ebooks and are listed on Amazon, Smashwords and Goodreads. It would mean an awful lot if you would review them. (I'm not sure if you can leave a review on Amazon without buying the book so Goodreads and smashwords would be just totally awesome.)

    Don't forget to eat. This is a bit much on an empty stomach. River is still in an impossible position. He's caught between the devil and the deep. Although Ben would be perfectly okay with Sam, all River sees is a boy who has just lost his parents, and he's obviously overlaying his own feelings about that. Also, Sam has been berrating him for treating Silver like a child and he's trying to correct that. All in all not a good situation for anyone to be in.

    River really is in a terrible situation. Certainly from his point of view, he has to choose between his brother and his lover. I was afraid people would lose sympathy with him, and I'm glad you understand.

    Enigma II is very different and involved purely mental rather than physical torment. We also get to hear SIlver's voice and meet one of my favourite characters of all time - Ariel. Gods Silver and Ariel together are dangerous
