Kate is a fab character. It was a nice change to write a girl. Kate is quite psychic and the reason she was walking on the beach was specifically to find Daniel. She is very calm and, on reflection I guess I should have made her more shaken but I think she realizes she needs to stay calm not to scare Daniel off.

Daniel cam handle just about anything except his own weakness. He's running away from himself and at some point will have to realise he has nowhere to run because he just takes the problems with him. Only then can he face them and take steps toward resolving them

I have never been able to understand a parent who can turn against a child purely because of who they love. I do understand parents who worry, or are even upset that their children are gay purely because of the way the world and so many people in it will treat them, but that worry, fear and upset should simply create more reasons to support and be close to your children. My daughter told me she was gay when she was thirteen and it just hasn't ever been an issue. She got engaged at Christmas and I totally adore her fiancee.

I agree with every single word. I've read the bible pretty closely myself and I can't see anything that definitively states men should not love men. It says that a man should not lie with a man as with a woman, but not as with another man. There are lots of interpretations as to why a man should not lie with a man as with a woman. The attitude to women at that time was one of total subservience and it may just as well have been a political prohibition as a gender one.
