Thank you. I'm really glad you've enjoyed the ride. I deliberately tried to make this story as true to life as possible and, whilst I have compressed time a little I hope I gave a taste of what it's really like to go through something like this, both as the patient and the carer. Relationships aren't perfect and lives aren't perfect and there are always hard times, but like you said these two have been through worse times than most so hopefully they will be able to ride the waves.

After that, Kei’s recovery slowed down. Never again did he take the dramatic leaps he had in those two weeks at the spar. However, he continued to improve slowly but steadily, working hard with all kinds of therapists, fighting frustration and anger all the way. As far as the doctor is concerned, Isaac is a brutal rapist who tried to take the easy way out. No doubt in his career he's lost patients he considered to be innocent and is angry that someone like Isaac survived while they didn't. He certainly has a very negative view of poor Isaac.
