Buying and restoring an abandoned house was supposed to be Greg and David's retirement project. After losing David, Greg has to decide whether or not he wants to honor David's dream. After receiving a sign he can't ignore, Greg proceeds to buy a dilapidated Victorian and begin the restoration process. Along the way, he discovers the house holds some surprising secrets, which can help his healing process, if he takes the time to listen.

Sometimes we have to embrace what life throws our way, whether we want to or not. These two poems are a tribute to aging and the losses that inevitably occur, and how we deal with both.

Life is full of twists and turns, both expected and unexpected, wondrous and excruciating. This year’s poems for National Poetry Writing Month will embrace the curveballs life throws at us and also serve as an exploration and raw portrayal of the grieving process. April is National Poetry Writing Month, and this is my collection for 2021. The goal is to write 30 poems (one per day) throughout the month. The majority of poems are responses to prompts supplied by Jan Hutchinson. Since I turn fifty this year, a lot of them will feature remembrances, musings, and thoughts about the next fifty. A retrospective of my life.
