Having spent the day hard at work, Tobias is keen to practice his baking skills and go home foe a good nights rest. But there is a demon waiting in the woodland with other things on his mind. The discovery of a shared talent sends their futures in a rather different direction than either of them could have predicted.

Being a sexual invert is a dangerous past time in Jahke's world, and though reading dirty books is illegal, it's a lot safer being in the Reading Room than being out in the city. Safer that is, unless you attract the attention of demons with a penchant for pretty boys and time to waste.

Kiorl is the right hand of the Devil, and sits on the left hand of the Prince of Hell, he is the third most powerful demon in the Inner Circle, and a cocky, confident, self-conceited son-of-a-bitch. But Kiorl's life isn't perfect, sharing the King's bed for political gain might be more trouble than it's worth, and apparently he has developed a conscience at some point in the last hundred years or so. Still, there's plenty of fun distractions to be had in the most favoured house on the hill.

Halloween used to be genuinely terrifying for mortals, but no longer. Nassau Del Rae, Prince of Hell, and a few of his companions meet in a pub on an Earth where the human population seem much more intent on getting drunk whilst wearing dubious fancy dress, and set to reminiscing about The Good Old Days.

Most of the residents of Zinkara Rumah have gone Upstairs for Samhain, and Zai finds himself as the stakes in a game of cards between Everyone's-Favourite-Fawn Jahke, and his own mate Tobias. Watching the two former humans play, Zai hopes that his mate will lose, because seeing Tobias anything other than in complete control is a rare treat indeed.
Little does the empathic demon realise what he's let himself in for.
