Seventeen years ago, Tyler was Martin’s high school drama club rival, accusing him of stealing the role he deserved. Now in their 30s, Martin has no interest in reconnecting with the guy who made his school years miserable. But when their employers team up to create a theater program for underprivileged youth, Martin and Tyler are forced to work together. It doesn’t help that Tyler is still cute as hell.

As old rivalries give way to some kind of friendship, Martin is plagued by painful memories of the past—and increasingly aggressive fantasies about his former nemesis. Have these theater nerds grown up at all?

Maximilian Hawthorn is eleven years old, terrifyingly clever, and the undisputed master of his school. He runs a black-market homework empire, negotiates better lunch privileges than the prefects, and has reduced his form teacher to tears more times than anyone can count.

Then he notices Gabriel —quiet, unimpressed, and immune to Max's schemes. His carefully constructed world begins to unravel as he discovers that some things can't be outsmarted, some people refuse to be impressed, and sometimes the best strategy is no strategy at all.

Crushes, chaos, and the theatre kids who bring even the most arrogant boys to their knees.

Before he ever met Killian Kendall in Bleeding Hearts, Seth Connelly was a smart, guarded teen trying to make sense of a world that rarely made sense to him. In Bright Things Come to Confusion, Seth shares how he came to terms with his identity—from the painful clarity of coming out to the bittersweet sting of a first crush. At its heart is a search for belonging, truth, and the father who vanished from his life. As Seth unearths long-buried secrets, he begins to see family—and himself—more clearly. Honest, sharp-witted, and deeply human, this coming-of-age story shines new light on a beloved character.
