Rich Boy: Awakening - 28. Chapter 28

He dreamed.

Except for those brief moments of existence, he knew he only existed in these dreams, but that was okay. Even as he dreamed, he knew he was growing stronger, that the parts of him were connecting more, that soon, if things went right, he could exist in the waking world as well as the world of dreams. Birth was always a time of pain, and he understood that, accepted it, and even welcomed the pain that would come with his birth.

Jamie didn’t know pain, not the way that Worthington did. Oh sure, he’d stubbed his toe as a child, hurt himself playing with Richie, but he hadn’t known true pain until he was older, until he’d met Worthington, his true brother. Worthington knew pain though. He knew all kinds of pain but it wasn’t until his integration that he fully understood pain, both the giving and receiving, pain of the physical, pain of the mental, and pain of the spiritual. Together though, he understood all he needed to know.

His dreams were of the normal type, of events in life, of what he hoped for and of what had happened played over and over again. For him though the dreams were more important than most, because it was here, in his dreams that the two parts of him were slowly being merged, becoming more and more one, more him. He understood this process from the memories of Worthington/Michael and what they had undergone to become one person.

There was still pain in how he was coming together, but it was nothing like that pain had been. This time the two parts of him were closer related, and more distant. Jamie had not lived the same life as Worthington, and the opposite was true as well. So, he’d started at the point where the two had met, and was slowly working his way backwards, using the time of dreaming to weave the two halves of himself into a whole being, into who he would be.

Yes, he dreamed also, pure dreams, dreams that were not the weaving together of his parts, but rather were dreams of what he would be when he was done. He would be Sinclair. No need for any other name. The two halves of his body would operate from his mind, woven together so they were truly one – acting with two sets of hands, two mouths, and two sets of eyes. He would be more powerful than any other Adept in the history of the world, especially with two channels bound to him, and the one who was not bound would be bound when he was complete. Jamie still resisted that, in the waking world, but his resistance was fading.

The sun was coming up, had peeked over the horizon and as his two parts began to wake, their sleeping mind going from complete harmony to the slight dissonance that still existed in the waking world, he felt himself fading. The panic that rose he controlled because he was used to it now. He always panicked as he found himself losing control, becoming two people instead of one glorious whole, but he calmed as he remembered that today he was more complete than he had been yesterday. Another joining would be good, especially because it would accelerate the process, and he knew the dreams he’d planted in the minds of his parts would take root soon. Already they longed for it awake, and it was only a matter of time until they gave in. Then he would be more complete, a huge leap closer to the final time when this would happen, and he would wake as one entity in two separate beings.

“Ugh.” Worthington moaned as he came awake. It was more because of the taste in his mouth, and the ungodly early hour than anything else. Waking with his arms and legs all entangled with Jamie’s was no big deal. This was how they woke every morning, so closely wrapped in each other that an observer would find it hard to tell where one began and the other ended.

It had been nearly sixteen hours after the fateful battle with Zaroc, the Demon Lord, that they had woken in this bed, wrapped together much like they were now. As soon as they’d opened their eyes at the same time they knew something was different about them, that they were closer, more connected than ever before. At times it was almost like they were doing the joining spell all the time now, except they knew they had not cast it at all since before that battle.

Richie had been in the room, monitoring them with his healing abilities, and waiting for them to awaken. Upstairs one of the doctor/healers who trained him had been doing the same for Elizabeth and Stacy, their mothers. When they awoke, Richie had looked happy, albeit very exhausted. It had been their brother that had related everything that had happened since they’d passed out at the end of the battle.

It was victory, and not even twelve dead Light mages with another nineteen wounded could diminish the warm glow of that victory. By the estimates of nearly everyone, twenty-six demons had been destroyed that night, and seven of the mages who were used to summon them had also died. Even the greatest victories of the demon wars had rarely achieved such an astounding number of demons killed compared to the number of human mages who had died in the battle.

The news reports of that night spoke of the freak storm that had hit the area, including microbursts and a report of a tornado actually touching down. Lightning blasts had killed several people according to the news channels. The microbursts had also managed to damage several trailers at a local trailer park, along with blowing a nearby power transformer that lit up the night sky and started some fires. Families made homeless by the disaster had been put up in local hotels for safety, and several days after the weather disturbance, two channels broadcast a story about how donations had flowed in to the families in need, including some large enough to buy the four families that were now homeless real homes of their own.

One of the families, a middle-aged man and woman ended up buying a new home in another part of the country. She was pregnant with their first child, a child they had hoped to have for years and years. They left behind their trailer, the job he’d gotten, and memories of a blond boy that was no longer their son.

Jeremy’s family had been taken for a drive by a local realtor, who had told them that a benefactor wishing to remain anonymous wanted to allow them a choice of new homes. The triplets fell in love with a house that was on the same hill as Worthington Sinclair, their older brother’s boyfriend. It had five bedrooms, lots of other rooms in the house, and it had a pool. The view was nowhere near as good as the one from their brother’s boyfriend’s house, but well, they felt Jeremy should be happy because the house they wanted was just three blocks away from Worthington.

He’d caved in when his parents couldn’t understand why they should refuse the very generous donation. When he’d learned that even after the house was paid for, the donations they had received would leave enough money to pay off their outstanding debts, and to let his father quit one of his two jobs while his mother could cut back her hours to part time, he finally gave in. Jeremy still had some sharp words to say to his boyfriend though, when he finally saw him several days later, and while he was disturbed at the eerie way he and Jamie were behaving, he let them know what he thought of their meddling in his family’s financial status. Their explanation that it was all a set-up to not only help them, but establish a tax-shelter non-profit for some of their profits didn’t help, but then he decided it didn’t matter.

The truth was it had been Worthington’s plan that had resulted in Jeremy’s family home being destroyed. No matter that Jeremy had agreed with the plan, and even helped to a point, Worthington and Jamie bore some responsibility for their loss. The fact that they repaid that obligation many times over was easier for Jeremy to accept because in the end it helped his parents and brothers a great deal. They could spend more time together as a family, and while that meant he was actually spending less time with Worthington and Jamie, he also found that he was happier as they moved into their new home.

Ugh is right. Jamie said in the silence of their minds as he stretched out in bed. Worthington stretched out at the same time, and they admired each other’s bodies again. They did this a lot these days, especially because now, in just the last few weeks, it had grown to be almost impossible to tell them apart. Even Richie had problems once in a while, until they opened their mouths to speak. Their last joining had done something, they knew, brought them closer in a way they had never imagined. Even Elizabeth was shocked that they looked so much alike, acted so much alike now that she half-believed they really were twins separated at birth as the story at school was now saying.

It was disconcerting for them at times as well. Imagine being in a class learning German when you are also in French class at the same time. If they weren’t careful and let their attention wander, they’d find themselves seeing out of two pairs of eyes, in two separate locations. They had grown much better about that in the last week though, learning how to keep themselves a little more apart mentally so they weren’t overwhelmed.

We could stay in bed today. Worthington smiled at his mirrored reflection in Jamie’s face. They were beautiful, he knew with a deeper understanding than ever before. When they moved down the halls of school together, they could feel the eyes landing on them, the lust in the air from girls and guys. Even the straightest guys in school were turning their heads at them, and they’d caught one or two of the lesbians giving them appreciative looks as well.

Naw, we’d never get any rest. Jamie laughed and Worthington joined him in a carefree laugh he’d never had before. It was Jamie’s laugh, and now it was his as well.

We really should have used a rubber. Worthington chuckled as he remembered last night’s baseball game. It was one of the championship games, and they’d gone with many of their schoolmates to cheer on the team. Jeremy had abandoned them for his family, again, and so when that senior girl had been all but fingering herself while she stared at them, they’d made their move.

She’d nearly freaked at the size of them when they’d gotten her into an empty room at the school. Still, she’d managed to handle both of them, although unlike the girl from two days before, she hadn’t been able to take both of them inside her at once. Then again, they doubted most people, male or female, would ever be able to duplicate that feat. They were just too big, both having finished the last growth spurt at just over 6’4 in height, and their nearly identical hard dicks measured just over nine and quarter with a decent girth. Yes, it was no wonder other people stared at them, and they stared at each other so much.

If she gets pregnant from us we’ll take the baby and she’ll forget ever having it afterwards. Jamie thought with a shrug. The thought so closely mirrored what was in his head that Worthington accepted it without hesitation. That happened a lot now. It was just another sign of how well things were going. With a sigh they moved out of the bed and headed into the bathroom.

Outside the temperatures was already climbing to the hundred-degree mark. It would be a hot day, and so they dressed in cool summer shorts that were tight and showed off their ample packages and well-formed butts. The shorts were the same material they often saw coaches wearing, and they’d bought several pairs in different colors. These were white, and someone staring at them would clearly see the blue bikini briefs underneath that they wore. The dark blue tank tops they put on also showed how well built they were, and tanned already as the summer approached.

Let’s see what the boys have for us today. They thought in unison and chuckled softly. After slipping on flip-flops, they headed out of their room and down the hallway to the entertainment room. The billiards table was covered, and someone had already gotten plates for them. This was going to be a working breakfast, as was the routine now on a Saturday morning.

“Good morning.” Brandon said with a smile as they entered the room and sat down. Breakfast this morning was sausage, eggs, and wheat toast. Rob was already finished with his food, Carl still had a few bites to go, and their red-headed ward, Colin Davenport was about halfway through his meal. All of the other boys were dressed in cargo shorts and various-colored t-shirts.

“What do we have to cover today?” Worthington asked as he took a sip of his coffee.

“The usual stuff.” Brandon said with a slight frown. “Elizabeth approved the overtime. I’m sure you could hear the work crews hammering away this morning. They’ll get finished with the new house quicker and we can move in by the end of July.”

“That’s good…” Jamie said.

“…we’ll be able to finish when we return from that camp.” Worthington finished with a frown they both shared. When Stacy had suggested it as a summer activity, they had wanted to say no, but they’d known as soon as she opened her mouth that the Light was talking, demanding the payment for its help in defeating the demon. So, they would travel this summer to a camp in Northern Arizona and play counselors to under-privileged children instead of relaxing in the pool at home.

“Yes, all the furniture should be installed by then.” Brandon said without blinking an eye. He was taking the way they finished each other’s sentences in stride although others still seemed freaked out by it on occasion. “Randall Smythe sent over last quarter’s reports on the Sinclair accounts. I haven’t found anything worthy of noting yet. The dwarves sent over their ‘bill’ for the work at Clairhaven and I’m… negotiating with them on a few things since they want to take longer than three weeks to finish whatever it is they are building.”

“Clairhaven?” Worthington asked.

“It’s what they’re calling the abandoned mine.” Brandon answered. “I think it’s based on the last part of your surname.”

“Interesting.” They replied to the statement in unison, ignoring the choking sound coming from Rob who had stuffed the entire last piece of his toast into his mouth and was now choking on it. It was Worthington who continued talking. “Any changes to the weekend’s schedule?”

“Just two.” Brandon sighed as Carl whispered something to Colin. The red-haired boy giggled at whatever it was, and they smiled at the two. Colin and Carl were fast becoming friends, being the youngest in their ‘family’. In age, Travis was two years older than Carl, and just a year younger than they, but both boys seemed happy with their friendship.

“What are they?” Jamie asked with a frown. He hated changes in plans these days.

“Byron Jones has said that he will be able to come out Sunday after all.” Brandon answered with a grimace. “He says he will be bringing a number of candidates for you to review as per your request.”

“Now that the demons are gone…” Worthington muttered.

“…they all want to flock in and make nice.” Jamie finished the thought. “Well, we’ll look at his candidates.”

“They have to be better than the wretches we saw last week.” Worthington agreed. “The other change is what?”

“Brigitte Hoffman is getting out of the hospital today.” Brandon replied. “There will be no need to visit her again.”

“Make sure we send her a welcome home gift.” Jamie directed and Brandon nodded while making a note. Hoffman was the last mage to be injured in the fighting that was hospitalized. She’d been gutted by a demon’s claws, and had lost most of the muscle and flesh on her right arm. For the first few days even the most expert healers in the area had not been sure if she would make it, but a Master Healer had answered their call for help last week and she was now on the way to making a relatively full recovery.

“Got it.” Brandon said. “That’s pretty much it. Without the hospital visit, you have an extra hour and a half this morning after breakfast.”

“We’ll go swimming.” They said in unison, smiling at being able to relax in the pool. It was a good thing, and not something they could do all that often.

“This is nice.” Worthington said as he slipped into the pool fifteen minutes later. They’d put on their Speedos, and headed outside where the temperature was already climbing upwards. The pool water was that perfect temperate, with just a hint of a chill from the night before. It almost felt like swimming in soft silk.

It was nice, far nicer than he’d had any right to expect when all this began, and his family had died. For most people, that might have been a bad thing, but for him it had been the beginning of a wonderful new life, and he couldn’t help but feel happy as he and Jamie moved though the water, their movements perfectly synchronized without any effort on their part.

Yes, the skies were clear, the sun was promising a warm day, and nothing could be better.

Rich Boy: Growing Pains will be posted sometime soon. GA is reposting my stories to the site with one story at a time, releasing chapters in the morning and evening. So many of the stories are multi-part stories that we're trying to get the first books all out and then get the sequels posted. The third book, Rich Boy: Inheritance is an on again/off again project for years now - but it's something that is groing higher on priority list to finish up.

Does anyone know if the sequel is ever going to be reposted?  I never understood why it was taken down.  I don't think the third part was ever finished but I know it was started.  Is there anywhere else that it has been posted???

A very good story (and sequels) too good to pass up.

Maybe the next story could take place on the Emerald Isle? Plenty of places there with 'interesting' histories as a starting point. Perhaps Sinclair, Jamie and Jeremy stop there enroute to Europe. During the first night in a Dún Laoghaire Inn, something awakes them in the middle of a dark and stormy night...😳
