Growing Wings And Other Things - 1. My Heart Lies In Monterey

This is a little poem for a guy with a BIG heart!

My Heart lies in Monterey
If you didn't know by the way
In coffee shops
Somewhere he walks by the bay

My Heart lies in Monterey
By the beaches, by the snow
I don't really know much about the weather
But I bet the sunniest smile
Is his, and his is mine
Is that such a crime?

My Heart lies in Monterey
Which is crazy because I'm in Africa
Amongst the poverty and the crime
But he gives his time
And every time
He spends what could be his last dime
To see me everyday
He goes out of his way

My Heart lies in Monterey
Where he laughs at my silly jokes
Forgives me for falling asleep
And I wonder if his voice is deep
I wish I could watch him sleep
Am I starting to sound like a creep?

My Heart lies in Monterey
Where he is probably going to think this is by far the gayest thing
But I know he will like it
And if he doesn't
Then just forget I wrote anything
But that won't happen
Because my heart lies in Monterey
And simply because I know
He feels the same way

Oh one day we will watch our favorite flicks
Kevick, I want to have some of your trail mix

Don't forget to read my story http://www.gayauthors.org/author/barricadeboy (which is not related to this poem) thanks!!
