Twist of Fate - 19. Chapter 19

Heres another installment. Thanks for all the likes. It makes me happy or at least smile knowing people actually like what I'm writing. So thank you again.

Chapter 19

Jason Pov

Shit, what the fuck have I done? Aiden hasn’t wanted to be near me, since the day he found out that I was in hospital. Not even his friends would come near me? What the fuck did I do? I kick someone’s ass for that asshole. And then I get treated like one? How can that even be remotely fair? UGH! I just wanted to rip out my fucking hair; it’s literally fucking irritating to no end.

I have to find out what I did so I can fix this, so everything can get back to normal. I just needed to find his best friend. Oh, what the hell is her name? Katy, candence, maria, rory, Riley, no that’s his one guy friends name… Wait its Courtney. Face palming for a moment. I rush towards my English class, that’s my only class with her. Maybe I can convince her to tell me something useful… Here’s to hoping.

Sliding into the room just as the bell rings, “Nice save there Jason.” My English teacher says, “Now please kindly find your seat? I hope you can still remember where that is.” He turns around and continues to write on the board. Spotting Courtney, I glare at the person next to her, and she gets up sliding into a different one. I didn’t care. Glancing at Courtney she gave off the air of annoyance.

Grumbling, I put my head in my hands and scrub it. This going to be a long hour. “Can I ask you something?” I quietly whisper to her, she look at me with a glare. Before facing frontwards. Ugh, “please?” I ask, she looks at me again with irritation. But instead she actually shakes her head. Okay this is going somewhere…

“Do you have something to say Mr. James?” My English teacher asks

“Well I would like to ask my boyfriends best friend something but she’s clearly still pissed off at me for something that I have done but I have no clue as to which that something is.” I Simply look from Courtney to our English teach.

“Well apparently this is troubling. For one its interrupting our lesson for today. And for two it would be rude to not answer him Ms. Blackwell.” He finishes, while he looks between both of us.

With a sigh and a grumble, “While he was in the hospital last week Aiden went to visit him, but before he could actually go visit him Aiden over heard what this jackass said, and it broke my best friends heart. So I have a right to be pissed off at this tool.” She says. She didn’t look at me at all when saying that either. This really pissed me off.

“You’re rebuttal Mr. James?” He says, clearly this is amusing him by the looks of that smirk playing upon his lips.

“I honestly don’t know which of that statement she’s referring to. I am kind of confused. I said a lot of things that day.” I fold my arms while glancing at her.

“Ms. Blackwell your response?” He says

She huffs, “I’m referring to where Mr. James says (“I may be his boyfriend, but fuck. Why couldn’t I have just let them talk shit about him. You’re a dumbfuck Jason James!”) And the class gasps at that.

(A/N) I am a bad author? Pinning the best friend against the boyfriend? And continue

My mouth opens and closes multiple times, “You’re response?” The teacher asks, I didn’t know what the fuck to actually say. I never actually meant any of it. I was beyond frustrated that I couldn’t play football, and I could possibly lose my scholarship.

Sighing, I turn in my seat “I didn’t mean any of what I said. And I didn’t know Aiden was outside my door when I went off like that…” I pause, “Shit he must be angry at me. I’m such a tool and a fucking idiot.”

“Well it looks like the argument is over. Can I continue with the lesson now?” He asks, while looking at us.

“Sure.” Courtney says. As she does symbol for texting with her thumbs. Getting the hint, I reach into my front pocket and take out my phone.

C; did you mean it? J; absolutely C; why does it seem like I don’t believe you J; believe what you like I know what is true C; why would you say that tho J; I wasn’t really thinking at the time C; that’s clear J; why do you hate me? C; I don’t really hate you. I hate to see my best friend hurting J; I truly didn’t mean to make him hurt I have to fix this Court C; well you better do it quick. J; why C; because when we went over there he wasn’t handling it very well J; alright I’ll text him J C; cant he broke his phone J; seriously C; yea, he literally smashed it against his wall it was insane J; damn thank you Court C; don’t mention it ever L

After school I rush out of the building and into my car. I make it to Aiden’s house pretty quickly. Going up to the door, I lightly knock on it. I didn’t see any cars in the driveway so hopefully it’s just us. Within a few minutes just as I was about to knock again, the door opens revealing a disheveled Aiden, with red eyes. His skin looks way too pale. He used to have a summer kiss tan. Now I couldnt believe what I was staring at. “Aiden?” I ask, but he tries to slam the door in my face. I guess I deserve that. “Please, let me e-“

“No you listen…” He pauses, with his lips trembling, “I trusted you again. I believed that you changed but you just proved that I couldn’t. So why even bother, just get the fuck off my porch and st-“

“Aiden please, baby!” I pleaded

“No.” He snaps at me

With wide eyes, “Please Aiden. Just let me explain. And if you still don’t want me around I’ll leave, and I’ll … I’ll never bother you again.” I say as my voice stumbles with sad.

“Fine!” He grumbles out as he turns around and heads for the stairs. Leaving me there, hesitating before I close the door behind me. Once I get to his room. I believe everything that Courtney told me. It literally saddens me that I put him through this, but he was taking this a little far. I made a mistake that day but I hope I can fix.

“Aiden?” I ask, lightly closing the door behind me, as the room fills with thick uncomfortable silence. We don’t say anything to each other a while. I didn’t know how to start honestly. How do you tell the guy that you like a lot that you have messed up and you didn’t mean anything that he heard? Just how.

“I’m sorry.” I quietly say after a bit. But he doesn’t respond. This is going to be tougher than I thought. “I really didn’t mean any of it. I am totally frustrated that I broke my hand. I blamed you for it…” I pause, still nothing. Aiden just stares out his window with his arms crossed over his chest. “Can you possibly forgive me?” I hung my head low

“Why?” He says so quietly that I barely heard him. But he still hasn’t turned around from his window. I could see his reflection in it. His eyes look pained and tears were falling from them. My heart clenched at the sight. It takes everything in me not to wrap him in my arms around him.

“Because, I’m a fuck up, but I’m your fuck up. And I want to make this right. Please Aiden.” My voice trembled, and my lips quiver

“Yes you are a fuck up. But you are MY fuck up! Jason-” He sighs as he turns around; planting himself on his bed. Aiden leans his body on the back board. And stares at me, with a sad expression. “Jason, remember when you said that you wouldn’t hurt me again? Remember when you said that you wanted to give us a chance? Remember when we were in that locker room? I told you that I didn’t want to play your games; I told you that I didn’t want to be hurt again by you. But you did anyway, like my feelings, my emotions didn’t matter to you. Tell me why I should believe anything that pretty little mouth says?” he blushes after saying that. It made me smirk.

“Somehow Aiden you have me whipped out. I’m wrapped around your pinkie.” I say as I spoke, “But that doesn’t excuse what I said. I’m sorry for blaming you for my behavior. But I don’t know how to fix this without your help. I want to make this up to you. So please give me another chance.” I beg him

“Fine.” He says that word, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. He tries to smirk but again the happiness didn’t reach his eyes. He doesn’t trust me still, and I can’t blame him for it.

“Fine as in?” I question him, as I come to sit on his bed, facing him.

“Fine as in, you’ll have to prove to me that you’re sorry.” He says

“Tell what I have to do?” I’m determined now.

He laughs manically as he looks at me, with a glint in his eyes. And smile that makes me slightly scared.

Thank you for reading. I have time now at least to write. So yay! Anyway, i start my new job Monday. Wish me luck. I hope you guys like this chapter. I need to redo the description of this story. It seems that as the time goes by the description doesnt seem to make sense anymore. Any suggestions before i change it?

At least Jason is still trying and Aiden is still listening (though Aiden's maniacal laugh at the end of the chapter does not bode well).

Excellent chapter! These two just can’t stop speaking without thinking. Jason is extremely guilty in this case, however Aiden knows how Jason reacts to adversity in his life. They both need to be more supportive and speak about their fears and doubts in order to make them both feel more comfortable and build their relationship together. I’m looking forward to the next chapter! 😃❤️

LOL yea sometimes i forget about them. Or i get writers block on that particular subject sorry. I really dont mean to leave my writers confused or wondering if the story will ever continue. My life hasn't been the greatness. And sometimes with being an adult other priorities come up. That's why I'm trying to finish this book in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you for the comment.

😎……….Ah, what's a couple of years?  Nah, don't worry about it, it's when the readers forget the author is still writing the story that you should worry! 😆

@Story Reader I think it's the author's attempt at leaving us hanging. But he hasn't disappointed us yet. My own fit thought was that Aiden was going to ask Jason for a blow job, but he isn't that crass. Time will tell.
