Musings of a Mongoose - 12. Beneath the Skin
He drank her floral fragrance,
as their kiss became a dance,
She drank his musky scent,
When lust became romance,
Yet if they'd traded bodies,
If their scents and lips were switched.
Would the kiss be any different?
Or they be any less bewitched?
If she were kissing she,
Would it change a single thing?
If he were kissing he,
Would their hearts no longer sing?
A kiss, a scent, loves strong allure,
Cares not one whit of 'him' or 'her'.
Or 'they' or 'them', if preference be,
It need not be a 'he' or 'she'.
Love concerns what lies within,
It cares but for beneath the skin.
