Re-Verse - 10. All On Board

Absurdist, rhyming fun in the form of a prose poem.

Pink, out, and proud, a spry, thirsty goat boards a boat on the Ouse. He critiques a green cat with a bow and two winks while quaffing a litre of booze. The red-chequered cow recites verse from the prow sans rhythm, or metre, or verve. Why all those boos, shriek gulls in old erse as they swerve to converse with nine tups. One keen-faced, bold sow culls her twinks in a row, then sups on some stout-flavoured chine. With wine on their jaws, oodles of blue-carapaced, quarrelsome poodles reverse in formation on deck. They dance a mean valse, all paws and plum drawers while whistling a jaunty tune. Our goat is a loon or a total buffoon, with his japes and pinchbeck guffaws. Security crows take a punch on the nose before tossing him onto some crepes. Mired all over, the goat takes his leave, no longer spry, or pink, or so proud.

A revised version of something posted elsewhere. Every time I look at this, I have an urge to fiddle.
