Master and Commander 3. Bridgemont

Master and Commander is the 3rd book of the Bridgemont Series of books by Mark Arbour and I just finished re-reading this gem.  It is a sprawling tale that travels from England to India and back and then to the Caribbean, onto Philadelphia,  then to Bermuda and finally back to England all aboard Granger's first command the HMS Intrepid.  There are naval battles and crusty old Captains and Admirals and more than enough sexual encounters to continually stoke the libido.  And it all occurs prior to Granger's twentieth birthday!

The wonderful third entry into the Bridgemont saga.  Granger truly comes into his own.  He is given command of his own vessel.  Travels to India, back to Britain, then the West Indies, then Philadelphia to meet with President Washington; and finally back to Britain.  

He meets new friends, new lovers, and new enemies; and manages to deal with them all, except his wife and his brother, Bertie.  Read the story to find out what the wife pulled and why.  LOL.  There were new battles, challenges, and real life historical figures to meet and deal with and enjoy.

Well written as always and faced perfectly.  

Another great read.  Mr Arbour has great skill in presenting 3-dimensional characters who grow and develop naturally.  My only regret is that Im not lounging about in a sunken bath as I read. Excellent story

Master and Commander it the third book in the Bridgemont series. Mark Arbour is great at creating interesting characters and plot.  His use of historical detail adds to the authenticity of the setting.  You will really feel like you are in the middle of a naval battle or riding around London in a carriage. George has been made the captain of the HMS Intrepid and is sent to India.  There he finds more wealth and some political conspiracy.  On the way back to England he makes an interesting rescue and arrives in time to greet a new member of his family.  Then it off to sea to the West Indies for more battles, prizes and more political intrigue.

George is a sexual acrobat and his adventures in bed are just as brilliantly told as the rest of the story.
