About this story

"You can never trust a Crawley." Those were Albert Cooley's words to his sons, spoken every chance he got, and August did his best to do what was expected of him after his ma passed. The Crawleys and the Cooleys were ranching families, and they didn't mix, not ever, but more and more, August had a problem with letting his father decide everything for him. Was Fletcher really his enemy? Could he trust the man he'd butted heads with over and over, one he'd known pretty much his whole life? All he knew for certain was he was tired of all the conflict, and needed his life to change before he exploded. That's where his Gran came in.

This is another Old West Tale. Yee Haw!

Another amazing story by @Headstall, in what really should be a harder genre to conquer.

The writing is truly first rate, and the pacing and descriptive nature of the prose is simply amazing.  The characters are so well done that you can truly see them and you just know how they act and move, almost as if you are watching a scene in a movie as you read the story.

The story is about discovering who you are and who you are meant to be with regardless of who your family says you are or who they think you should associate with.

Sit back and enjoy this tale of love and overcoming long odds in the old west.

Response from the author:

Thank you for the kind words, my friend. This genre has become as comfortable as an old suit for me. It's been a process of research and uncertainties, but I found a rhythm with my first multi chapter western, and I like to think I have worked out the kinks since. I'm so pleased you liked this tale as you did. I wrote this one a little different from the others, and have enjoyed the reactions so far. I hope new readers will give this one a chance. Appreciate the support. Cheers!

Headstall has again given readers an authentic taste of the old west in this delightful story.  The main characters as well as those who support them are as realistic as they are good, and the evil of August's father has real depth.  Another of Gary's stories that I will read again.

Response from the author:

Thanks for this, Terry. I appreciate the encouragement for others to read this story. These characters and their journey will live in my head for a very long time. :)

If you’re interested in a historical western romance that includes characters from far flung circumstances, yet united by one goal, then this story is for you.

Prepare to be immersed in the anxiety, courage and determination it takes to rope a moon, with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of love thrown in for good measure

It’s another great tale in the corral of westerns from this esteemed author.
