rima fragmenta, Fragments of a Rift: Fifty Sonnets for Kevin - 13. sui generis

.

Sonnet No. 25

Our third appointment, I but open the door,

And you instantly bend me to your kiss,

Making my mind draw near a precipice,

Which your hands insist in maddening encore.

Cradled in the crook of your arm, I adore

How your touch explores every orifice

You intend to transform sui generis,

And make love to me like the stuff of folklore.

In absolutely blissful mandatory

Swooning under your possessive manly power,

It’s hard for me to say when I’ve ever known

Love beyond this yet greatest allegory –

Compelled to surrender ‘neath a kissing shower –

Like a falling star having the heavens shown.

Sonnet No. 26

Cardplayers and songwriters know even

There’s sometimes nothing to replace the blues;

By the way I feel, that maxim’s proven

When chords in my head play win, draw or lose.

So when you contact me, I should exalt

To know my sin of truthfulness – my fault –

Is expunged as long as I don’t assault

The silent treaty where my words I halt.

Thus like a song on eternal repeat,

Hands of Aces build to larger pattern

But follow the metre of a heartbeat

Unsure what to do, or which way to turn.

But my whole gamble is its sum gestalt –

Holding song and cards from you by default.
