a Glass Floor Underfoot - 10. On Slumber Mountain

Der Abend

für Golo Gangi [alias Erwin Loewenson]

2.

Am Schlummerberge hielten die Winde Rast,

Eh sie Zur Ebne wandten den Weiterflug,

Ihr Murmeln Scholl aus den Höhlen,

Wo sie zu ruhen gewohnten.

Sie traten heraus und schwangen rüstig hinab,

Weit in des Nachmittags schwebenden Untergang.

Zum Abschied wiegten die weißen

Blüten im Träumegarten. [i]

The Evening Light

for Golo Gangi [aka Erwin Loewenson]

2.

On Slumber Mountain the winds slowed as they bent,

Before turning to ebb along a downward line,

Where from caves their murmurs sounded,

As if their place to rest it seems.

Stepping out they swung deep with spirit and went

Far into the wan afternoon's gliding decline.

Parted, the flowers surrounded

Blossoms in the garden of dreams.
