My answers to Val's Postcards from the Pandemic - 4. Card #19 to #25

Card #19

IGNORE refuse to take notice of or acknowledge; disregard intentionally

Eyes closed, headphones on my ears, I dance

forgotten are the perils of the time,

drowned in rhythm, beats and a beguiling voice.

Drums goad me, drive me on, push me, edge me

until I’m gone, I’m gone, gone.

Card #20

MASK

Protection or disguise?

Correction. We show more than one face!

With it or without.

It’s the eyes.

Not exchangeable, but unique.

Hide in plain sight from the blight. Not possible.

Card #21

It’s a high-wire act.

Today I had a heated discussion

With my supergirl:

Are people poised to forgo certain things, little or big?

Which price is too high?

Because she is my supergirl, in the end she said

As long people are alive they can get better.

Those who died are lost to us forever.

The decision shouldn’t be hard.

Card #23

My dad made a pavlova yesterday

And showed me the result via Skype.

I could almost smell it.

Silently salivating, I watched him and M. eat it with gusto.

I wish I could have been at their table. I miss them.

Card #24

I’m sick of tele-teaching.

Although I’m thrilled with the creativity presented to me.

I got videos, paintings, podcasts and even a poem as answers.

Cool kids, huh?

Card #25

We made lasagna today, with all the trimmings

I have to say it looked perfect.

Then we called dad and M. on Skype,

And yes, we ate it in front of them, with all the appropriate and not so appropriate noises.

Turnabout is fair play.

I’m embarrassed, but what can I say.

I miss them. And I was bored. *shrugs*

Quite a week. :thankyou: @Valkyrie for the daily pep talk.

I love these. It's really cool how creative the kids are.  I loved the Skype exchanges.  I can picture it clearly :gikkle:   The first one really has the rhythm of music.  Great job, wolfie

I dance by myself too, Adi. And I dance like no one is watching... because no one is. Thanks for these. Stay safe.

Great song... I danced. :)  Listened to Fire and danced to it too... loved it... great combination of blues, rock, and even a little country feel. Didn't know him before, but LOVE his voice! Listened to You and I too. 👍  Thanks, Adi!
