Haiku and Tanka - 8. Random
owls hooting in trees
echoes of bull frogs singing
the forest at night
a speck in the sky
wings spread wide, riding thermals
bald eagle flying
a gaggle of boys
giggling in the dark of night
innocence at play
people in my head
yammering up a storm on
lives they've never lived
boys' soprano sing
crying out to god above
chorus of angels
ink on my fingers
paper strewn around my desk
one writer at work
bonny boy
first to steal my heart
love forever
the fish aren't biting
poor worm drowns under water
fastened to the hook
whirlpools sucking oars
slick canoe speeding along
lazy afternoon
one hundred haikus
written by my hand this month
I'm glad it's over
