Bloodlines 8. Chronicles Of An Academic Predator (CAP)

   (2 reviews)

Bloodlines is the eighth story in the CAP saga. It starts in 1998, and introduces a new character, Matt Carrswold. Matt is from a wealthy family in Shaker Heights, is a hockey player, and an excellent student. His world is about to be turned upside down.

Before you read this story, consider:
1. It contains graphic descriptions of sex between men. There is even be some sex with women in here. Fortunately, there is no sex with animals.
2. Be aware of the effects of inflation. A good rule of thumb is to consider that $1.00 in 1998 is probably similar to $1.40 in 2009.
3. This is a continuation of the Chronicles of an Academic Predator Saga. Many of the characters in this story were introduced in “Chronicles of an Academic Predator,” “1968,” “The Land Whore,” “Be Rad,” “Man in Motion,” “A Summer Love,” and “If It Fits.” You don't have to read them before this story, but it will give you a deeper insight into those characters and their pasts.

This story brings new and old characters together including a visit to Claremont.  Includes the fear of HIV into the story with the right amount of traction for the time and the child abuse in handled well . The change of font had me confused as the change of perspective until I realised that it was 3 am. That is how invested in the world i was. People may think that the sex is overdone,  for me it mirrored my own experiences perfectly, a young man from rural New Zealand visting Hawaii and San Francisco at that time,  almost a memoir!!

I am totally fucking awed by this great story. It has everything:  love, hate, loss, tragedy, suspense, family drama, fear of HIV, coming out, dealing with family members who reject gay sons, and of course steamy, explicit, arousing sex scenes. @Mark Arbour is my role model as a writer of erotic stories, and I recommend this one, and all of the series to everyone, but be warned--you'll find it hard to put it down (and that's not the only thing that'll be hard!). Thank you for yet another knockout of a story, Mark!

Holy shit.  That was just the nicest review!  Thank you so much!
