Hello...? Mic check one-two... One-two... Alright, audio seems to be recording.

So hello. Uh, I'm Ellis. Ellie, for some of my friends, I guess.
If you're listening to this, well, congratulations, you found my audio log. Well, logs, really. I'll be making more of these. Now as to why I'm making them, well, I wanted to make sure I remember my thoughts and opinions. Things haven't been so quiet. At home.

I mean, it's not a big deal, just a difference of opinion. Logical fallacies and all that. Just... well, let me give you a summary: my parents and I don't see eye-to-eye. Don't get me started with my older brother: he's an ass at times. They're good people, though, but I sorta think differently. And earlier, we had a bit of a debate, and there was a fight. I'm...

I'm not... honestly not sure what I'm doing. I guess it's just for a contingency plan. I've... always been good with those.

So yeah, if anyone finds this, nothing's happened yet. Hopefully.

Chapter Comments

He (or She? ) recorded a message - there were two interesting things about the message,  apart from it describing a disagreement with his parents. Logical fallacies, incorrect logic leading to false assumptions or circular arguments - I wonder what happened? There was an error at the end - unexpected end of file - why was that? He did actually sign off, so what happened at the end of the message that wasn't recorded?

The writing style: too short to judge - I'm waiting for more. So far it's both interesting and mundane. Interesting is the discovery of the message, mundane is it's about an argument with his parents.

So you think it may be too short to make a concrete perception of?

I figured I left enough clues but I guess not, haha. Might have to make this work a multi-chapter piece.

That was a different and interesting start. Can I assume we'll get to 'listen' to more of the audio blog in coming chapters?

I was thinking that would be the end of it, but I guess I could build it up with some more log pieces.

I wanted to challenge readers and make them contemplate over the entire text and how each intricacy played into something.

Case in point: CAPITALization.

Haha

Not sure I understood this... Still curious about the ending. Did his plan backfire in a terrible way?  The unable to load profile sounded ominous, but that could be my computer illiteracy making me jump to conclusions.

I was hoping to keep it vague but leave enough clues to force the reader to thinking this as some sort of puzzle, haha.

It is (or aims to be) one of those mystery stories that would try to force the reader to look in and between the lines for clues to the meaning; seemingly pointless but actually unsettling.

This comment box doesn't seem to have a way to hide part of the content behind a “SPOILER” marker, so I'm sorry in advance (if anyone reads this before reading the chapter).

I read this yesterday (before the second chapter was released) by mistake, so to speak. It's just that I don't have enough patience to wait for the release of new chapters (I guess I could blame my ADHD?). I wait until stories are tagged as complete so I can read the whole thing in one sitting.

This one was tagged as complete (though it's not now), or it was a bug in the search, but once I saw the format I couldn't not read it. I have been a programmer for 15 years, so…

At first it did puzzle me. As in, I was somewhat curious to know where it was going (not enough to actually follow it; I'd probably just waited until it was complete and read it then). Then I picked up the odd capitalization at the beginning (and I didn't even realize the last file was a hint towards that until I read the author's comment just now). Now I'll just have to read new chapters as they are released—assuming that there are more than just the two that have been released so far—, since now I'm too curious to wait for the story to be completed before reading. I'm excited to see how this will turn out.

One aspect I liked is how all the error messages—and the fact that we're reading the transcript—kind of belie the hopeful “nothing's happened yet” at the end of the message transcript.

Kindred programmer spirit, welcome!

Originally, it was supposed to be one chapter but the comments say reading it wasnt satisfying, so I had to expand the universe more to give an idea of the story.

People wanted more narrative so I have to play that with the puzzle aspect.

Glad to know you noticed the capitalization. I'm sure you noticed the messages by now.
