Sam gets his first lesson in dragon arithmetic.

Grump

Chapter Eleven: One and One Equal Dragon

With regular school done for the day. The five have met at Peter’s to call the circle of astral projection. Time to spend three minutes holding hands here and three hours with their mentors in Between.

***************************************************************

“Sam, you and I are going to spend our time together working in my garden. We will work together and talk together; get to know one another. A dragon needs socializing. Without proper interaction a dragon can become a real ‘grump’.” Millicent was smiling again. She had lots to smile with. And was that smoke. It smells like incense cedar. And is she whistling.

“Look who‘s talking. The bossy old alligator.” Sam mumbled under his breath. He was pushing a wheel barrel loaded down with tools and pots of petunias headed down a pea gravel path as he followed behind Millicent.

"You know I heard that Sam. Haven’t you ever realized you have remarkable hearing. All dragons do you know, especially me.” Millicent made a pointed gesture with her tail at Sam.

Yeah. Sam had great ears. Every day he could hear the others talking and whispering about him at school. “He’s so nasty. He hangs out in the bathrooms you know trying to see dick.” He heard plenty, every day. This morning in particular. “Why is Peter hanging with that fag?… I saw Tom with his arm around him, gross… Did you see Sally kiss him, that is just sick… Do you think Peter is, you know, letting him suck his dick? That guy Jeff, he is almost as bad as Grump. I bet he sucks too.” Will his new friends stay his when the pressure starts from all directions?

“Of course they will remain your friends, Sam. You should know better. And yes, I hear your thoughts, but I am not reading them. You are just broadcasting them with your emotions. You will learn to conceal your thoughts and emotions just like your walk conceals your form from others.” So much to do. So much he needs to know and understand. So much. But this is the best way. We will just talk and he will learn.

“You don’t get it. Some people can’t accept anyone who is gay and they put pressure on others to not accept. Being gay is like being a target and anyone near the target is fair game.” Sam did feel that way. He was ground zero. And it was all out war on the fag.

“Some people are always making someone a target. That is intolerance carried to assault and sometimes to violence. But Sam you have not surrendered to attack, you have not abandoned yourself in defeat and neither will your friends. Take comfort in your friends, you will stand together against all comers. Ask why? Why is it this way? When will things change? All questions and answers start and end with each of us. You can ask why for a thousand years and still not know. But you can choose now and have your own answer. Create your own answers. Choose to live your life. Choose to accept who you are. Choose to stand against intolerance. Choose to help others. You can choose what and who and why and how. We choose and that is our hope. A soul is our greatest treasure, but freedom to choose is at the heart of every soul. Because when we choose we create. The danger is we can choose to destroy.” Sam has so many choices in his future. What will he create? What will he destroy.?

“Now let’s get these petunias in the ground. I like this color. Blood Red.” Trowel in hand, Millicent pointed and directed and Sam dug and planted.

“Millicent, how can I be a dragon. I’m human. I mean am I human? I don‘t know if I like being a dragon.” Hell, first gay and then dragon. What next?

“Of course you are human. Well half of you is all human. You are as human as any other human. But a very special human. Your other half is dragon and I mean all dragon. With all the smoke and fire and whistles. A dragon is a human with a dual soul. A dragon needs a human to exist. It is a symbiotic bonding. It is a magical bonding between soul duplicates or mates. For the dragon half you are his human soul and for the human half you are his dragon soul. You are the same as one another, but from different worlds. Together you are more, you are dragon. Two souls equals dragon. So you and you are really one, and one is really two. Get it.”

“What?”

“You are human. You are dragon. You are… You are Sam and Grump. You are both. You are the same.”

**************************************************************

Their circle broken for the day, the five sat together and discussed their afternoon in Between.

After about a hour someone kept coming up with something to add each time their talk can to a conclusion. Finally Jeff brought it up as a point of discussion. “Would anyone care to volunteer to be our intersection today? I imagine that is why we are all still sitting here staring at each other.” Jeff seemed the most at ease with the intimate side of their friendship.

This time Sam was the intersection in the circle of infinite pleasure. Sally had passed on the honor. “I am not really ready for it. It scares me a little.”

Tom, do you really feel that way?

Jeff don’t look there. No Jeff don’t touch that place.

Sally, are you singing to me?

Peter don’t do this. Don’t make me cry.

Sam, I love you. Sam, I love you. Sam, I love you. Grump, I love you.

Sam take me. Sam, I’m yours. Sam, I know you. Grump, please.

Peter I want you. I have wanted you so much, like forever.

Sally, I never wanted a girl before. But I want you. You are different?

Jeff, what have you given me? Is it joy?

Tom you’re huge.

Sam, Peter Sally… Sam, Jeff, Tom… Sam, Peter, Sally… Sam, Jeff, Tom.

Circle in Circle out, Circle in Circle out. A flash of fire. A blaze of desire.

The thunder of wings. A whistle call. The blast of flame. The rake of claw.

Ride me Peter. Cling to me Sally. Steady me Jeff. Command me Tom.

Ride my pleasure. Cling to my desire. Steady the thrill. Command the rapture.

We are one. Again we are one. Oh my delight. Oh my heart….

“I going to have to buy a box of ‘depends’ if we keep this up. Not that I’m complaining but it is so messy.” Peter was getting up from the floor. They had fallen asleep again. It was nice, the sleeping part, the cuddle part.

“Refresh.” Tom chanted.

“On my god I feel… Tom what did you do? This is awful. It’s all over me even in my hair. Sally looked like a wet cat surrounded by wet dogs.

“I guess it went wrong. Sappho did say something about not abusing the spell. But this was just the second time.” Tom was pulling at his wet and sticky T-shirt.

“I got to get to the shower.” “So do I.” “We all need showers now.”

“The shower down stairs in the gym is oversized. Come on.” Peter led them downstairs to the terrace level where the home gym was.

“You guys, just jump in; our clothes are a mess to. Maybe we can shower together. Cause I can’t wait. Just keep your clothes on. We can strip later.” Peter directed.

“Strip naked?” “Together?” “In front of each other?” “Now?”

“You want to. Don’t you?” Peter asked not a bit embarrassed.

I'm thinking about a pyscho shower scene.
