August already! Summer, at least summer here in the Northern hemisphere, has been flying by. I'm sure those of you still in winter are ready for a bit of warmth and a new season too. But first, we have August to get though. Reading this month's CSR Book Club selection just might pass a bit of time for you.

Rating: Mature

Description: Cole is fascinated by a boy who won't talk to him and has no idea how to be gay in a world in which a man's worth is measured by his skill in working the land and riding quad bikes. Jared thinks he's happy with his secret lover but when a boy who can't communicate with him puts in the effort to try realises that secret sex-friends might not be enough and even good boys get love too.

What a Reader Said: I really like this story, especially how you have taken the time to develop Cole's character and led us all to the discovery of Jared's deafness. Cole is such a sweet hot tough guy. He has fallen hard, but will be the most true friend Jared ever had if he lets him.
I can't wait to read more. ~ From JohnnyJon1

Okay, readers, have fun with this story! It's the first one I read of this author's, though I found it off-site before Sasha came here, and I was glad to see it posted on GA. Make sure you come back for the CSR Discussion day on August 26th!

Was the second story of Sasha's I read, also found off sight.  I was impressed with the way he researched sign language and had Cole struggling to learn. I know first hand how hard it is for a hearing/speaking person to learn sign. As a part of any character interview I would love to ask Jared what went thru his mind every time Cole made the inevitable mistakes that would totally change what his fingers were trying to say.

A tender, human, uplifting story. I will def discuss on the 26th August.

Okay, I voted "I don't have time". I'm super swamped with work right now and I barely have time for anything else. But the story does seem to be super-interesting. From what I have read, Sasha writes very well. If I manage to squeeze some time in, I might read it. Hopefully.

And for the second question, it was a toss between the fourth and fifth answer. Do you think it would be possible to have author chat? GA did it before. But maybe, it was too complicated with time differences and all. Dunno. So I checked fourth one. It would be nice to have some interaction between the readers and the author.

Great suggestion Ieshwar - and even if we can't do it for all author's, we can see if that is something we could do occassionally...
