Kick ice
"Get up Ron, you gotta get up early so you can start the car and have it warmed up"
"Yea, I'm gettin up"
I shower, get dressed and go and start the car around 7:00. I come inside, get a bowl of dog food for Xander, go out and feed him and come back inside. I get all my school stuff ready and by this time my brother is just getting out of the shower.
"Hurry up, remember I gotta get there by 7:45 for early bird!"
"I'm hurryin, shut up" he says.
"Did you feed your dogs!?" mom says.
"Yes, I did"
"Oh shit" my brother said.
"What you gonna feed Jayne" mom says. (I fed his dog for about 3 months and lets just say I'm sick of supporting his, I-dont-care-if-I-get-my-brother-paid-back,-who-i-just-happed-to-owe-about-$250, ass)
So he went out in the freezing weather to feed Jayne a salami, bread and marshmallow silage, and I was about to walk out the door. Here comes Xander running for the door, but I was too late to close it, sneaks in and runs through the house with his poopy paws . I run to get him out of the bathroom and tell my brother to go put him back in the kennel. We finally get in the car to leave for school and luckily the window is defrosted. It's now 7:35 and I knew I could make it, and even if I couldnt the icy roads wouldnt really allow me to speed.
I pull around the corner of the school and see that the parking lot is bare.
"Where the heck is everyone? Is school canceled? Turn on the radio." I tell my brother.
Just as he gets it to the right station, I'm pulling up to some crazy person walking in front of the school.
"Mr. Hillesland (English teacher from last year)!!"
"Oh hi Ron."
"What time is school closed till?"
"I'm not sure, probably a few hours late"
"Oh okay, thanks"
"....closed. Pierre, Virmillion, Watertown, Hamlin, Clark, all closed. That's the first time I've ever heard all those closed folks."
So I get home and go inside and call the radio station to see if schools closed all day. Yep it is! Snow day!...er..more like Ice and Wind Day!!
Well it seems God likes procrastinators because I didnt get my 130 pages read over the 4 1/2 day weekend... ...heh...
