OUT Loud At Last is a photo campaign in response to Adam Bouska's NOH8 campaign. We are “removing the tape” and celebrating the legalization of Gay Marriage in the U.S.!
I was in NYC when the SCOTUS ruling hit the press, and I immediately wanted to celebrate by having a photoshoot. My Friends Kayla O’keefe and Schyler Conaway helped form the idea of “removing the tape” to reveal a rainbow and show our pride in finally being able to live OUT Loud At Last.

Those are the words of photographer Jenna Pinchbeck, excerpted from an article in Philly Gay Calendar. To read the entire interview, go here:

Pictured is Brian Sims, a Democrat representing Center City Philadelphia's 182nd District in the House of Representatives. In 2012 he became the first openly LGBT person ever elected to the General Assembly in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's 237 year history!

I didn't realize that Senator Rubio was a real person until I saw his name in a news article. The same goes for Ben Cohen (OMG is he gorgeous!). Now there is Brian Sims.

Who knew that reading Summer (and now Autumn) would be like taking Important Figures in American Politics 101?

Makes me want to pay more attention to what they have to say as I'm thinking we will be hearing from them again.

P.S. Congratulations on the SCOTUS ruling !!

Alex Minsky is also a real person! His story is extremely inspiring which is why I worked him into the plot for his cameo.

I considered those 4 to be guest stars in the first season! Rubio's running for President right now, we'll see what happens with the story and if I'm still writing it when it reaches 2015. Technically, CJ's starting his Senior year this August :D

Brian Sims I honestly admire and the quote I used from him in the story is real. He has a good reputation and one day may rum for higher office, we'll see.

Cohen is an amazing man and his StandUp Foundation is very real.. One of the straight allies of the gay community. He's just as good looking in person LOL

I won't turn the story into a fan shrine to real people, but if one fits into my plans I'll work them in. Living in DC, having money and connections could lead to a few more meets.

One other thing you should be aware of, 99% of the locations I use in the story are real. I am modify them slightly to fit my purposes, but or example, all the restaurants are real (except 1) and the same with stores and their locations. Whenever I have the guys walk somewhere, it's a doable thing, I've walked many of those streets at one time or another.!

My bad, I actually did checked out Alex Minsky when he was introduced so I knew he was a real person.

I blame Ben Cohen for distracting me though - his picture would just not get out of my head.

With Trump being so loud (and other things too many to mention or alternatively unprintable), I missed the part about Rubio's presidential bid.

I like that you use real locations in your stories. It makes them more grounded in reality. Add your protagonists and supporting cast and it seems like these guys really do/could exist.

Good to hear my characters come through as being realistic. Each time I write something, my goal is to get the reader so convinced what's happening is real, they expect to run into CJ if they walk outside his school, or into any of the other cast members at the turn of any corner in Washington.

There's a picture of Ben Cohen in my gallery you may like. He signed it during a StandUp Foundation event. :D
