If anyone tried to persuade me to sell my CD collection I'd firstly go ballistic 'cause I love music; and then I'd wonder why. I have friends who have literally thousands of CD's

 

MP3's don't have the quality of a CD, so even though Green has them on his hard drive they're not actually as good.

 

Um... Just saying, and none of my business... But music is really important, and personal.

I'm the same with collecting stuff, I don't really collect lots of things, but the things I do I want the whole set of...it's just nice to have complete sets

AMEN to that brother! Ballistic dont even start to cover it either. but this is coming from someone who can only sleep with the likes of breaking benjamin/metallica/seether/offspring loud enough to rattle the walls. This morning when i tried to take a nap, the power went out for almost 3 hours and it was too quite, and i couldn't even fall asleep.

 

And 60 gigs is a nice, round, small number. I wish i only had 60 gigs of MP3's again.

 

OMG Garbage Pail Kids!! I loved GPK's!!! those r keepers for sure!!

 

 

And who could dislike The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?!?!?! Lets see, there was Leonardo, Donatello, Michalangelo, and Raphael if I remember right.

 

 

After Hurricane Katrina destroyed my house, I was able to rescue my 500-plus music CD collection, including a lot of them that had to be pried out of the one-inch layer of mud covering the floor. Then I spent a month taking all of the CDs out of their case, personally handwashing each and every CD, and then putting them all into new jewel cases. (Talk about a yucky and time-consuming business. I had to discard the paper liners because they were all moldy.) Then I paid to have UPS ship them across country to the city I was moving to.

 

Get rid of my CDs?!!!

Chaz and Green,

 

Um, I guess Chaz, people didn't read that you were only selling the duplicates and stuff that Green has stored in other areas. I don't have an ipod (I have ear trouble to begin with with my hearing etc..took long of a story going back to childhood) since I hate putting ear plugs in.

 

I know why Green has kept the Garbage Pail Kids..they are an emotional connection to Johnathan....that makes sense and he appears to be a collector of Ninja Turtles (which at this point I bet if you check on ebay are worth a lot of GREEN...MONEY GREEN..compared to the sentimentality of their worth to Green...so I undertand that)

 

I remember reading Green's early blogs where Selene would smack him in the head and bitch slap him and tell him that he needs to be with you and you alone...I don't understand her concern....you didn't purposely hurt Green nor intend to..unfortunately, as I said a Keystones Cops comedy of errors occurred and like in the movies poor Green was just being Green when what happened happened by pure mistake. I firmly believe that you would rather cut your limbs off before ever hurting Green.

 

Given all that happened, I know Green Knows this and that is what matters. I have stated from my heart how I feel in my prior entries..to me you two are married and as partners I feel you and he come first to each other...friends are cool but they are friends, who should respect you both as each other's husbands/partners/lovers particularly where its such a loving relationship (i.e. not abusive, not hurtful, not verbally or emotionally or physically abusive, etc.)

 

Ok before I blather on way too much...I really do hope that you both get away from it all....and remember you are each other's strength and love....above all else no matter what:)

You didn't collect as a kid?

 

I used to collect coins, stamps, fossils, gems, rocks and albums. My parents encouraged collecting because the collections themselves had value.

 

Now my biggest collections are books (~2,300), CDs (325) and, DVDs(42). And yes, they are cataloged in a database.

 

Garbage pale kids were after my time. In my day it was "wacky packages" which were satirical bastardizations of consumer products. Purina cat chow became "Putrid cat chow". Of course the 'rents hated them so we loved them as much as our Satanic albums.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of course there is a web site dedicated to the preservation of these priceless artifacts of us children of the 70s collective childhood. Wacky Packages

When I was born we didn't even have cars! Biplanes were a luxury undreamt of, and I used to get up to go to school before I went to bed.

Those were the days my son! aye.

Much better.. When Chez was born Cable was just taking form... Now Cable is dying and the INTERNET is here... in vact Chaz and Green would have been about 10 when the first picture was put on display on the net and there was like less then 100 pages to visit.

 

 

Ok Green not a pack rat... read my early blogs and then you will know what a pack rat is.. My grangparents :nuke: Though I know Chaz said so in his blog.

 

As for what to do with the one who hates you... Give Let green talk to her and then give her time to calm down... she will it's just going to take time.. much like Green needed to give you and David time... when.. well we won't travel down that dark road again.

As for the Selene thing I talked to her about it but she's not budging on this. I told her that if she couldn't be civil to him then I cant have her in our home and she flipped. She accused me of picking him over her and I told her Damn right I was because he's right and she's being stubborn about this. I told her that she is a part of my life but so is he and so is David and that if she was in the right I would pick her over him but she's not. She stormed out threatening never to talk to me again. I called her and told her if she was willing to do that then maybe we weren't really friends.

see, I knew you were a smart wonderful Guy with an amazing heart and sense of justice..and yep, I gathered you were only selling the doubles of the cds..which is cool...

 

as to Selene, on this I totally agree with you....as I said if it was a situation where there was an injustice or violence or mean spirited words...you and for that matter Chaz and David (and I used to think Selene) would discuss it and work from there.

 

I simply believe that Chaz did nothing wrong and your response is a healthy one and simply one said from decency, respect, love and honesty and goodness...its that simple.

 

I hope that Selene can calm down...but I for one feel in my heart and soul and mind you did the right thing and set appropriate boundaries here.

 

As you said if you thought Chaz or if it were someone else was acting inappropriately or did something inappropriate (or if it were you) then you discuss it and speak your mind and they you. Once the situation was explained to Selene I feel it should have been her accepting nothing bad happened to you on purpose and with intention and desire to harm you. end of story...

 

I pray and hope she comes to understand that and I also hope that you and Chaz take time away now to get away together and be at one with each other:)

I've never really been into collecting things, so I guess I can't relate to the feelings that collectors have over their collections. I have a large collection of china cats but to be honest, when I painted about fifteen years ago, they all went into storage in shoe boxes and that is where they remain, to this day.

 

I've read everyones comments and I'd like to add something.

Well lets move on to this Selene thing. She still hates me. She's making it blatantly clear that she doesn't approve of me anymore. I know how important she is to Green but I am not going to stand by and let her treat me like this. I told green that if she doesn't like me she should just stay away because I plan on staying here for a long time and I really don't want to have to say something every time she comes over.

 

He said that he didn't think it was fair either and that he'd talk to her about it because it's bothering him and David too. I hate this. I really used to like Selene. She was the first of his friends that I bonded with and it pains me to think that she hates me now.

Chaz, I would like to reassure you that Selene is not your responsibility. How Selene behaves or thinks or even what she says is not your responsibility. If Selene decides that Green has to choose between you, then that is her decision. She is the one who is blowing hot and cold all over the place and not you. I know that Green would be terribly hurt if he was made to choose between the two of you but to be honest, it is Selene who is doing this to Green and not you. Chaz, you have done nothing but support and love Green and you have been there at every oppportunity and quite frankly, you don't deserve to be treated like an add on that can be removed at any time.

 

If Selene ends up turning her back on Green because she has decided that she doesn't like you, well that is no ones fault but her own. Please don't let her make you feel guilty that you have stepped between them, because a blind man in a dark room can see otherwise. And if Selene makes Green choose, he will choose you. And anyway, Selene is the one who is trying to come between you two and it wont happen because Green loves you Chaz.

First off, I can't say much because I have a decent sized collection of DVD's, but now where NEAR that many CD's!!! Holy cow, I didn't know that much music existed! But to each their own, that's cool. And look on the bright side, by getting rid of a few of the duplicates, you now have room for some new ones!!!

 

I will say though that Selene confuses me. And please don't take offense at this and if (and I probably am) I'm way off track here, just please ignore it...but there's no way that she might have a thing for you, Green, is there?? I mean I tend to be a bit over protective of certain friends and family members as well, but good grief an accident's and accident and it just seems like she's over reacting by A LONG shot. And I don't know past history's or anything, but it just seems like something more than that incident is going on. I don't know, now I'm curious, just ignore it. lol

Actually she's been really weird since I told her about my tumors. I dont think she has those types of feelings for me as she treats David and I exactly the same but there is something I dont know. I can assure you of that.
