I hope everyone's having a nice weekend. It's been beautiful today, so I made sure to get out for some social distancing-approved fresh air. I've also been working on the next Syndicate chapter. This one was originally written during a NaNoWriMo sprint and hoo boy, does it show. A lot of repeated words and weak adjectives. There's also been some story changes along the way, so I made sure to account for those as well. Hopefully, that will be posted tonight! 

I post this story on a couple other sites (none of them nearly as fun as this one), and so I also worked on my book cover a bit this weekend. I use Canva, which has an entire suite of book cover templates and royalty-free images.

Anyway, here's the old cover. This was done entirely in Canva, and I've never been completely satisfied with it: 

And the new one! It's a little more dramatic and closer to what I've been envisioning. I drew the mask on Procreate using an image as a reference. I'm very, very new to digital drawing, but pretty tickled as to how that came out. Shading in particular is something that I can manage when I have a reference, but cannot get right on my own. I want to take some online classes so I can work on composing my own drawings.
