An update

So, I've been busy between my new job and school lately, and organising my thoughts on Sunny's Angel. I've temporarily placed SA on hold for awhile I think until I become way more organised with it, but in the mean time I'm in the process of gathering my thoughts and such for a new story that I'm probably going to write. After writing the outline vs. No Outline post and seeing other individuals thoughts and such on it, I've decided to try my hand out with a new approach on writing stories. As such, this new project that I want to try and write is my test ground for it, so I'll needless to say, I'll be focusing more on that than I will be on SA for awhile. In my spare time between school, work, and this project, I'll be attempting to focus on SA.

Regards,

Jon

So what is your new approach? How are you going to do it?

Write now I've got a character biography list started on my characters, I'm also coming up with relevant family and character history, am conducting some research on history in general to apply certain parts to the story and said characters history, and am fleshing out personalities, so to speak.

I also wrote down a bunch of stuff to do in a to do list, things such as:

Character Historical timeline relating to relevant points in history

Certain backstory timelines and reference points

Along with that I've written down certain scenes or conversations in my head that I want to see happen in a non-sequential view, and with that I've also started to write down some Sequential ideas. I have to be careful with that part though because as I've already discovered, I come up with some ideas that I end up having to try and fit. That's why I've decided it kind of sucks to be writing crap down with a pen.

I've found that if I actually write this stuff down rather than try to type it, I seem to have better success with ideas and fleshing out the characters because while I'm writing I'm able to ponder other things as well, where as if i was typing, I'm not so sure I'd be able to do that.

Those are just a few things that I've taken to doing.

Regards,

Jon
