I'm About To Do It Again

What's that? You ask.

Plans are in the works for 8/1/09 to meet another of my internet friends. This isn't just an ordinary friend. He also happens to be my favorite off site author. I'm talking about Jamie, author of 'The Scrolls of Icaria'.

Jamie contacted me, via chat, this past Sunday to let me know he would be flying in Monday and wanted to know if I wanted to get together, providing his schedule allowed it. He's here on business. Even tho he was born and raised in the Harrisburg, PA area, he calls Belgium home.

Via two emails today, we're making plans for this weekend.

If you like sci-fi/fantasy, you'll like T.S.O.I. It's a story about boys with wings and their search for their home/kingdom. Back in late April, early May, I did a complete proof read of Book 1 for Jamie. Over the years, Jamie has corrected various errors that slipped thru the editing process and since I probably know the story as well has him and his editor, Jamie asked me if I would do this for him and I did.

Once this was done, all the chapters and interludes were re-posted so that now anyone new finding the story, will find the best possible copy. If you do decide to read it, don't be in a big hurry to go thru it. Jamie has hidden lots of clues thru out the story. The proofreading that I did was the fifth time for me to read Book 1 and I still found things I missed before.

And if you read it looking for sex, you won't find it. Jamie doesn't write sex, he'll hint to something happening, but he doesn't write.

It was a very pleasant three hours today. I met up with Jamie and a friend of his. I must admit, that he was quite how I had pictured him. I thought he'd be taller than he was based on a picture that I've see when we chat online.

We met up at a Holiday Inn and went inside to sit in the restaurant and talk. It closed at 11:00 am after serving breakfast and they don't open for lunch on Saturdays. So we wound up sitting outside on the balcony, overlooking the pool. We sat there and talked for two hours and not once did anyone come up to us and ask if were were guests.

We finally left there and went to a local diner where we spent another hour or so, eating and talking. I'd say we spent about 90% of the time talking about The Scrolls.
