The outgoing Palm Springs Mayor Ron Oden, on the left, congratulates Mayor-elect, Steve Pougnet. Steve received over 70% of the votes cast in yesterday's election. Both men are openly gay. Another 'out' man, Rick Hutcheson, was elected to city council.

The city of Vallejo, California held an election on Tuesday, November 6. As of November 7 two candidates for mayor are in a dead heat with 5,158 votes each, waiting for absentee ballots to be counted. Gary Cloutier, a gay man, and Osby Davis, a black man, are tied for the position of mayor. Interesting candidates!
