Jason Rimbaud Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I found this collecting dust in an old notebook. This stirred such great emotion inside me I felt like I should share it here. Loss of Innocence By: Jason R. Written sometime in 1996 My demon is perched high upon my back All these fears in my head till clarity I lack I speak of things I pray you
S.L. Lewis Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Wow...that was powerful. Its well written and really got the point across. It made me really think for a few moments about what I was reading, which doesn't happen often. Very nicely done. Rose Strailo (sounds like Stray Low)
AFriendlyFace Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I actually didn't realize this poem was about rape/molestation until about the third stanza. Prior to then I was thinking "No one can really take away someone's inner glow."' Then when I read that I began to consider things from a completely different angle. This is indeed a very evocative and thought-provoking piece. Certainly nothing can take away one's innocence more quickly and completely that the events described in this poem. -Kevin
