Site Administrator wildone Posted January 7, 2008 Site Administrator Posted January 7, 2008 I don't know if anybody actually got to watch the gold medal game or not, but one thing was quite apparent after Canada won the gold medal. There was multiple 17, 18, 19 year old guys going around kissing each others . Not full lip on lip kissing, but there was a hell of a lot of smooching on the cheeks, heads, etc. This got me to wondering, is this a reflection of the teen age group in Canada. Since we now have legalized gay marriage and it is supported most by the 15-30 age group, do these guys look at kissing another guy on international TV as nothing big? That their attitude is more liberal and that it doesn't mean that they are gay or anything? I just don't think it would be ever seen in North America ten years ago. One sportscaster called them the metro sexual junior hockey team, and they actually ran a segment of all the kissing going on during the tournament. The only one who seemed to be a bit taken aback was a sportscaster during a locker room interview after a game, and a player gave him a big smooch right after getting a towel full of shaving cream rubbed on his face. So what do you think? Steve

But I think that we might be getting more and more metro sexual, specially for those of us in urban center. as for the player, well they're big "jocks" so well they can get out by doing those kind of thing, it falls in with the team spirit.
