Mark Arbour Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 So I'm wondering why rats freak everyone out but maggots don't?
Conner Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 So I'm wondering why rats freak everyone out but maggots don't? Because it's the maggots that would be doing the eating. Isn't there a somewhat similiar treatment used today for burn victims?
Tiger Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) So I'm wondering why rats freak everyone out but maggots don't? That is a treatment that is used now. Sterilized maggots are used. It also makes sense to use urine, because it is the only body substance that is sterile, so pissy maggots are better than non-pissy maggots. Rats are vermin. They spread disease. Maggots are nasty creatures, and I won't say otherwise, but I'd rather have maggot treatments than lose a limb. For anyone who hasn't heard about maggot therapy, there is more info here. Mark Arbour Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 ch25: this is frightening Frightening?
Conner Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Frightening? Enric is fearful of what may happen to you should Calvert die. Aren't you?
Tiger Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) Enric is fearful of what may happen to you should Calvert die. Aren't you? If that is the case, this tiger might just indulge in cannibalism. Roasted tiger anyone(as in Mark roasting on a spit)? Edited October 13, 2009 by Tiger
Tiger Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 You guys don't trust me? You've been having unnatural carnal relations with a certain goat.
Mark Arbour Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 You've been having unnatural carnal relations with a certain goat. Does that mean that we can say, with certitude, that the goat likes pussy?
Tiger Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) Does that mean that we can say, with certitude, that the goat likes pussy? I figure you're in a better position to answer that question. Ahem, we're getting side tracked here. Anyway, I think you're going to get roasted if you kill Calvert. Edited October 13, 2009 by Tiger
Daisy Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I figure you're in a better position to answer that question. Ahem, we're getting side tracked here. Anyway, I think you're going to get roasted if you kill Calvert. I'd be very upset if he died as well. but on the other hand life is/was cruel. and it'd be interesting to see how Granger coped with it afterwards. not that I want it to happen or anything
Daisy Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 So I'm wondering why rats freak everyone out but maggots don't? the rats didn't freak me out, I knew it was true anyway. but the maggots, actually they make me squirm. it is worse, because they are eating You. even though they're helping . still a creepy thought.

Daisy Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 It's better than losing a leg. maybe. but still, it makes me shudder slightly or frown. I'm squeamish. and more squeamish all the time.
Mark Arbour Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 The wound is in his neck. How would he lose a leg?
Mark Arbour Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 You assume that the maggots do their job. If they do, though, he'd end up with a scar where the wound was, probably not that much different than if it were just a normal non-gangrenous wound.
Daisy Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 if Calvert did die, how do you think Granger would cope? would he cope? and not be too visibly upset? I suppose since they've just headed out to sea it could happen then, so he wouldn't be at port having to report and that sort of stuff.

He does what's expected of him, but in private, he'd fall apart completely I suspect.
Daisy Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 He wouldn't let it show. He does what's expected of him, but in private, he'd fall apart completely I suspect. yeah, but would he have enough time to himself to do that, without being constantly interrupted. and then of course having to put the act back on, pick yourself up enough.
Hoskins Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I wonder if Calvert can feel the maggots chewing, or hear them munching away... * sprays bug spray everywhere *
