Zeoanne Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Is it just me, or does anyone else see Joe's behavior as being consistent with what a deeply closeted gay might do? Rather than being mad at Nelson for being gay, he may be unhappy with his own situation...being on the outside rather than simply being out. I've also been thinking about that. It could be he's rather upset that Nelson didn't tell him before. Could it be he's interested in him?
Rick Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 (edited) I'm going to agree with the poster who suggested that Milo is trying to communicate with Nelson via Jame, and that A**face is reporting back to Milo that Nelson wants nothing to do with him. The parking lot scene in which Nelson runs away from Milo would just confirm that for Milo. Milo is probably obsessing about how Nelson is doing but is afraid to call him and is wondering why Nelson hasn't gotten in touch...especially given Nelson's past irritating behavior of showing up at Milo's and generally being a pest (in the best sense, of course). This may play into Milo's fear of being abandoned by those whom he loves. How will these two react when they finally face each other? Can't wait... Edited February 8, 2010 by Rick 1

I could see Jame reinforcing Milo's fear by commenting poorly about Nelson turning away from Milo at school. There's a real strong potential of us wanting to smack both Milo & Nelson in the back of their heads if they fall victim to their own fears and lack of communication. The good news with WT (versus some of the other Domluka stories) is that friends like Caleb do meddle. Many of the characters in TLW, DD, & ITFB don't stick their noses in their friends business like they should (example: Tony not telling Owen that Aiden was gay 'It's not my place to say'.... pleaseeeee). I have hope (with the ending of Ch 17) that Caleb will push Nelson to communicate with Milo so that they can clear up what's really happening. Take Care®, Vic
acht-acht Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 First I have to say I DO adore Caleb. Interchanging Jame
Marty Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 You know... Many of the suggestions you are throwing out are plausible... And just a few of them don't (to me) seem plausible... I've a lot of theories of my own.... Some of them contradictory... But I'm personally quite content to wait and see what Dom comes up with in the next chapter (which I see has actually gone up). It's his story when all's said and done. I'm just not sure whether that means that I'm not as big a Domaholic as I used to be ...
