My two cents worth.

 

I say is Assface behind the rumors because I don't like him at all. It looks like a thing he'd do. I don't think he's a good friend to anyone, because he comes across as a very selfish person.

 

My heart goes out to Brandon because he's putting himself out there, being an "out" friend to Nelson, even again his team. That's not gonna be easy for him. He's risking a lot. Besides, all of them have... what? 17? You think Brandon Sholer is slutty? Caleb, anyone? Teenagers? Oh and the way he knew Nelson always stares at his ass! And the dimples! I'd be swapping spit with him in two seconds flat!

 

I don't want to know anything about conspiracy theories because I really like him and just thinking about doing a Machiavelli scheme to brake them up and then come as his rescuer. It's really complicated and I think Dom's better than that.

 

Milo pisses me off. He's really dense, he has to man up and if he really feels anything for Nelson, there are multiple things he can do. He just sits there and be the perfect damsel in distress.

 

Obviously the hero in this story is Caleb because basically, he's Caleb and everybody just love him. You just do. Time and time again, he's proven to be just pure gold. I cannot wait to hear them talk when all of this is over and done with. Nelson telling him gory details just to make him suffer! Ha! Karma is a bitch!

I think probably his asshole of a father just grounded him guys. I am sure he knows the phone was disconnected. If you think about it, there isn't anyone Milo was close to at the school besides Nels, so it makes sense to me that no one tried overly hard to get in touch with him. If it is true that Jame started the rumors about Nels, he certainly wouldn't clue Milo in. That would add to the reason Jame tried to stop him from going to Nels, other than knowing it would get him in a heap of trouble with his father. Despite everything, Jame seems to still not want Milo to get hurt and crossing to talk to Nels would have hurt him at this point, as Jame is still obviously not ready to come out. I cannot wait to see what Nels and Calen cook up to get Nels and Milo some time together!

 

A topic no one has lifted is: Do Jame think Milo is gay. Jame's actions get me to believe that he still think that Milo is straight and Jame is protecting Milo in good faith against the evil gay Nelson. Remember that before Milo got to know Nelson and opened up to him - his only confidante was Jame - with the exeption of him beeng gay. Jame knows all about Milos problem with his father and loss of mother and has apparently been a very good support for Milo and hepled him alot - therefor Milo do trust Jame to be a good person. But we know that Milo trust Jame enough to tell him he is gay - that he only trust Nelson to know and very reluctantly.

 

Enter Nelson. I do believe that Jame has a functioning gaydar as straight as he is. And with remeberance of the rumors at Milos old school of Milo being gay and of Milos apparent denial - Jame is doing everything possible to stop any new rumors this time.

 

And what did Jame observe at the big fiasco in the morning? Boze and lube in the hands of the evil gay molester Nelson. Everything was clear for straight protective Jame - Nelson trying to get innocent straight Milo drunk and then molesting him when he couldn't protect himself. We all know that that is what every gay male want to do - don't we.

 

So in James book the best way to protect Milo and his reputation is to make Nelson into that evil person. And in this little town it's really easy to do.

Let's go conspiracy theory time. We know Milo is a bit dense, but even he wouldn't jsut waltz up to Nelson after a week of no contact like nothing happened. So what if he doesn't know he's had no contact? Specifically, what if he's been trying to send notes to Nelson through, say, Jame? Who would, of course, throw said notes away as soon as he was out of sight. It's even possible that Milo thinks it's Nelson shutting him out, and the little turnaway in the schoolyard confirming it.

 

I don't know if any of this is plausable, but I figured I'd throw it out there.

 

I though about this too. But then I decided that Milo couldn't be that stupid as to think Jame would pass on messages to Nelson. Jame hates Nelson and isn't shy about letting anyone know that little fact.

You know, after reading all the posts, I could almost see Milo telling his father and Jame that Nels came onto him with the alcohol and lube and Milo turned him away. Then having Jame spread those rumors. I still buy him not getting in touch with Nels for a while if his Dad said not to, but not being able to resist going to him when he saw him in the parking lot. The other obvious is that this was simply the first day of his Dad slackening the reigns of his "grounding." I dunno. This story has been on the tips of my toes and I want to see the end and I want it to go on forever. *sigh*

Hey Dom. Just wanted to tell ya Thanxx for bringing back "With Trust". I read it when you first posted. It wasn't till chapter 12 the updates started slowing down and I think it was either 14 or 15 when they just stopped. For awhile I was thinking that maybe you round filed it. I'm glad you did'nt cause it IS a way kewl story Can't wait to read more.

..............Yep, that was my last comment to this story! Left hanging on chapter 11 waiting for 12! In fact I waited til 17 was posted before I read it, that is re-read all of it! My thoughts on it, Mr. Trust is behind 99.9% of everything in the story, to him his image is everything. Milo dated every girl in his old school and still rumors floated, I'm sure Mr. Trust was well informed enough to involve Jamie as a potential friend for Milo, trying to get him to try and pass off that aggressive male sexist attitude unto his son. Juanita is another enigma here, the un-housekeeper that does Milo's laundry has never pre-chanced to see his drawings? Some that a noisy Nels saw in minutes in a delivery? Trust me, the Trust family already knows that Milo is gay, Mr. Trust had even tried to keep the existence of his son away from his future fiance! Jamie knows too, but has some loyalty attached to Milo in a friendship not different from that of Caleb and Nels. In a way Jamie and Caleb are very, very, very much alike, they don't realize that because the enemy camps are drawn fast and hard. What is not known is what advise Jamie is reluctantly giving Milo, how much of a friend is he? Jamie may be an ass, but I do not think he is the one that spread the rumors, I believe it was Mr. Trust, with his influence and power decided to protect the family name by whatever means he can come up WITH TRUST MILO!

 

Milo will out himself to absolve Nels!

Probably true. I'm alright with thinking Milo is a tool. Yes, he's young, and this kind of situation is expecting a lot out of anyone. I'm not certain that at that age in those circumstances I would have shown any more sense of self than Milo did.

 

That does not make him any less of a tool.

I like Joe, he's just trying to deal. You can tell he's just uncomfortable. We already know, he doesn't like any other guys besides Caleb and Nelson (or doesn't get along with any other ones). Haily's his cousin, they have to get a long. I'm pretty sure, he's just confused because he just wants everything to go back to the way it was. But you can tell that he still cares about being Nelson's friend, I mean he wanted to beat Milo up for him spreading that rumor of him. Some guys just need time to deal, but I'm sure he'll realize soon that Nelson is still his friend.

 

Though, now that you think about it. Since Brandon noticed that Nelson was always staring at his ass, you start to wonder if Joe noticed any of it too. lol That's something I think could be a factor, or I could just be reading too much into things.

...............Yep, I don't think Milo is really a coward! I think he was trying to protect himself and the family name, because of his father. That is why I think the Trust household knew Milo was gay all along, I think Milo was suffocated by that and his introvertness was a result of his upbringing. What (TRUST) father would have dismissed his son so easily if say the son had been more like Joe, Jamie or even Caleb? Milo is not a coward, he was trained to be a 'Trust', that bubble once Milo discovers the truth is going to blow up over the town, and over his father. Will Jamie be there for him, as Nel's freinds will be? That is the question!

Is it just me, or does anyone else see Joe's behavior as being consistent with what a deeply closeted gay might do? Rather than being mad at Nelson for being gay, he may be unhappy with his own situation...being on the outside rather than simply being out.
