*HJ* Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I love Garth and Strait. Sorry, country girl, I was raised on them I have to say for pure vocals my favorite singers are Celtic Woman. They have a styling that is just amazing and their version of gives me chills every time I hear it. I love Celtic Woman. Their voices are just amazing.
AleMaho Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 As in solo artists: Definitely LadyGaga and TaylorSwift. As in bands: AngelsAndAirwaves, hands down. Their vocalist TomDeLonge is just amazing.

blake_logan Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Delurking for a first post (assuming I can figure out how this editor works ) I've got pretty eclectic tastes in music, but my most recent favorite is Kelly Joe Phelps ("Shine Eyed Mister Zen") (sorry, couldn't figure out how to embed the player) Newish releases I've spent money on recently and enjoy enough to recommend include: The Avett Brothers "Emotionalism" The Black Keys "Brothers" The Decemberists "The King is Dead" Cee-Lo Green "The Lady Killer" Los Lobos "Tin Can Trust" Ray Wylie Hubbard "a: Enlightenment b: Endarkenment" Iron & Wine "Kiss Each Other Clean" All time favorites include: Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" Billy Joel "Piano Man" Ann Peebles "I Can't Stand the Rain" Average White Band "AWB" George Clinton Harry Nilsson Janis Joplin
comicfan Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Okay you asked for it. Remember I'm older than some here 1. Cyndi Lauper - The woman has been putting out records for more than 20 years. She writes, sings, plays. Just an amazing artist. 2. Joni Mitchel - another singer/songwriter. Amazing voice and terrific songs 3. Judy Collins - incredible voice and worth looking into 4. Bon Jovi - For an 80s hair band they have stayed around and stayed relevant. 5. Linda Ronstadt - She rocked out and continues to 6. Heart - The Wilson Sisters ROCK! 7. Michael Buble - His voice can not be denied. 8. Sarah Brightman - She may have once done some bad disco but from her Broadway days on her voice is heavenly.
Friendship7 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Music is universal like the game of chess you don't have to know the language to know if you like it or not. I like many types of music. I can listen to classic rock, blues, classical jazz calypso and zydeco. I'm a piano tuner and if they use a n accoustic piano in their performance and I'm hired to tune it then it has to sound perfect. Two things happen after wards I get paid and I enjoy their performance. Music is good for the soul.
Friendship7 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I like ELP, Joe cocker who I tuned piano for, BB King for blues Pink floyd, Clapton, the who, and many others, too many to list here.
