jkeeling Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Awesome But this Kline character has me a little on edge. The Southern Cross tat idea was just awesome.
Clydee Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Chapter 67, Shell Game, is up. CJ Awesome as usual. Thank God for cooperating Customs Officers! That reporter guy worries me too, but maybe he'll be put off after they go to Shark's Bay???? I think this guy will find out about Atlantis by snooping around the yard, see all the damage and put two and two together, don't you? A thought struck me, and I will go back and check, but do we know Shane's last name? Could he be the Blake's son or nephew or something like that? They seem (the Blakes) pretty accepting when it comes to him, allowing him to charter the boat and all. I just wondered. Damn...now I have to wait another week...damn!
C James Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 Awesome But this Kline character has me a little on edge. The Southern Cross tat idea was just awesome. Trevor, with the "Tat" and the dye job and haircut, looks a lot different... he's now got brown hair, instead of blond. I think it was a good idea that Shane had to do that, and the southern cross tattoo. Also, a touch of synchronicity; it was the Southern Cross, or rather, mistaking the False Cross for it, that caused Trevor to miss Reunion and have to try the Southern Ocean. Awesome as usual. Shane's last name is mentioned only once, but it is mentioned, when he goes to Atlantis to apologize. It's Shane Rhys. Shane didn't charter it, Ned arranged that, and the Blakes agreed. But, they did put Kookaburra in Shane's care, and let him live aboard, which is indeed very accepting and trusting of them. We'll find out more as we go on. And yep, it sure was good of the customs guys to go along with this scheme! It couldn't have been pulled off without Fowler's role in it.
Pai-kun Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Awesome chapter! It felt very focused and flowing when it was all about what's happening in Australia. I love all the other parts of the story and the characters, but it was a nice change. And my poor heart needed this break from the always scheming Evil Grandma and Evil Grandpa. Again, awesome chapter!

Well the hair job will be a good cover for Trevor but pass the Sanchez issue to Shane. The good question is will they be safe from being observed or followed on the way to shark bay and if they get hit there. Pity Kline still suspects ... perhaps it might work in Trevor favor to have one reporter still tailing ... he might catch on to sanchez. Hey its scary that sanchez is there ... he might already have chartered a boat. That southern cross thing maybe funny but maybe that might put sanchez suspicion onto Trevor any way. Now the good question is when will he make the hit on trevor since you could say he's found them maybe. You think he'll find ned place and discover atlantis? I like share wearing the joel's shorts ... I bet trevor like it too ... makes you wonder if trevor been looking a shane more.

It would seem that Shane was thrown out because he was gay, so a big surprise coming up in the next chapters here with Trevor being clued into the news. Nice touch with the resurrecting of Trevor's torn shorts, I'm sure it only got waves of attention from Trevor here. Now how far as the reporter goes, Jason Kline seems to be a hurray for me f" you type of person, But I'm wondering if he smells a story beyond the one he has, could he involve himself in Sanchez's person? Or could he just get close to Trevor in the Shark Bay area. Shane made the deception done very well. But I doubt it will hold for long, shame Trevor will leave once again without the phone he was promised. . So the real problem here is a tailing Sanchez operative, if they have the info enough, i fear for Shane's life here, will the gun of Trevor's be returned to him on their voyage out? Great chapter CJ, I think I hit on some last point that made be true here. Edited March 2, 2011 by Benji
hh5 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 How do you have trevor in two places ... on the boat giving words to shane and then the customs shack watching shane from a far ( you forgot to give trevor binoculars ) I hope in the next chapter you'll have trevor admiring shane in joels shorts. I don't think he'll get his gun ... unless he's departing austrailia into international waters. Perhaps shane has access to the blakes guns or harpoones or flair guns

We'll find out more as we go on. I can't help to feel that the Blake's caught Shane breaking into their boat and when he confessed to them they took sympathy upon him and gave him the chance to redeem himself. By forcing him to look after the Kookaburra he is getting a second chance and if he screws up the Blake's only have to inform the police. And yep, it sure was good of the customs guys to go along with this scheme! It couldn't have been pulled off without Fowler's role in it. And Ned's I wonder if Klein will try to follow Trevor and Shane to Shark Bay. To do that though he will need to charter a boat which most likely means talking with Ned. Hopefully Ned recognizes him for what he is and tells him there are no boats for hire. So do I get a gold star since I kind of guessed the assassin would mistaken Shane for Trevor but instead it was all the reporters? I have to admit my mind was in the gutter when Shane asked for the ten bucks, I was hoping he was gonna buy some condoms
C James Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 Awesome chapter! It felt very focused and flowing when it was all about what's happening in Australia. I love all the other parts of the story and the characters, but it was a nice change. And my poor heart needed this break from the always scheming Evil Grandma and Evil Grandpa. Again, awesome chapter! Thanks!!! It was originally (in the first draft) just a linear account of the planning, and then the events. It was also boring as hell! I rewrote it to skip around a bit and have some reveals. We learn a little of the background (such as a brief account of how they moved Atlantis) and a few other things (Whose idea was it for Shane to wear those holey shorts?) early in the next chapter, but I wanted to get the whole scenario in this one done in one chapter. I like share wearing the joel's shorts ... I bet trevor like it too ... makes you wonder if trevor been looking a shane more. There's nothing in the chapter to directly indicate that Sanchez is there, or knows where Trevor is. Oh, I think we can be sure that Trevor very much liked Shane in those holey shorts. .........Well I liked this chapter very well, the inference on why Shane was thrown out of his home seems to be oblivious now his fortitude in trying to keep the yauft isle safe from predators makes more sense now. Great chapter CJ, I think I hit on some last point that made be true here. Shane wearing those shorts did get him extra attention. There's a satellite phone on Kookaburra, so Trevor isn't phoneless. A cell wouldn't be a lot of use in most of Shark Bay anyway; no coverage except, i think, around Denham. How do you have trevor in two places ... on the boat giving words to shane and then the customs shack watching shane from a far ( you forgot to give trevor binoculars ) I hope in the next chapter you'll have trevor admiring shane in joels shorts. I don't think he'll get his gun ... unless he's departing austrailia into international waters. Perhaps shane has access to the blakes guns or harpoones or flair guns Trevor wasn't on the boat at all in that chapter, not after sunup anyway. It was all Shane on the boat when the reporters appeared, though Fowler joined him breifly. It was written to be read so that it would be assumed that Kline had found Trevor on the boat, but he's not named; that's Shane, as we see after a few paragraphs. Trevor can't get his gun back until he departs Australia, you're right. And Trevor probably agrees with you about the binoculars. And we all know how much you absolutely hate irony I can't help to feel that the Blake's caught Shane breaking into their boat and when he confessed to them they took sympathy upon him and gave him the chance to redeem himself. I have to admit my mind was in the gutter when Shane asked for the ten bucks, I was hoping he was gonna buy some condoms Irony? Me? LoL... It was a good idea Shane had, to dye Trevor's hair brown. Shane is blond (like Trevor was) and they bear a passing resemblance to each other (similar height, build, hair-color) so they pulled off the switch. Ah, time for me to mention the next chapter's title! It's "Getaways". CJ
